No Sign Of Spring Yet ..

Hello my dear friends,

it seems that it just isn't our time for Spring just yet here in SW Ontario. This is what it looked like on Friday morning. I knew they said there was a chance of a little snow but no one thought it would be like this. It was very cold since the temperatures had dropped to minus almost 30 over night and the little snow turned out to be a blizzard like fall.

I took my younger daughter to school and then dropped something off with my older daughter who works a stone throw away from Michaels and since I had a few 50 % off coupons tucked away in my pocket and it was the last day for them, I just had to stop by and pick a few things up of course. One thing on my list was E 6000 - my favourite "glue it all"!

And then there was the aisle with the wool that I am in love with. I tried but I just couldn't leave without some of it.

Isn't this just lovely? ~ it's called 'Pearls'.

The bluish one is called 'Regency' and the greenish one is called 'Meadow' ~ beautiful again!

After it finally stopped snowing and the sun came out for a tiny bit, and so did my camera.
It actually looked like some one had used a huge can of spray-on snow and covered everything with it.

Even as I am writing this it is still snowing ...

... and it is now Saturday evening and I can already see myself clearing driveways in the morning but that's OK with me.

It is always so nice when you stop by to visit me and I would love to do so soon again.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.ours,

Karen B.

  1. Oh Karen,
its unbelievale. If I could, I would send you some sun and warmness. In Germany we havn't had winter 2013/2014 and I am very glad about that. But if I would have known your winter would last so long and so cold, I had taken a piece of it.
Hold out! Even in Canada comes spring. I'm sure!

We have also been dealing with a long, cold, snowy winter. Spring cannot come soon enough!

  5. I like the colours in the Regency yarn. All of the snow (which you've captured beautifully) makes for good knitting weather.

  6. Snow is beautiful, especially when fresh. Here it's just raining, raining. I hope you stay warm and cozy - lots of lovely yarn for projects to keep you occupied!

  7. We had more snow this morning, too, Karen, although only a "dusting" and now it has vanished. But it is still quite cold with very, very few signs of spring anywhere. It is so beautiful to look at it when one can stay inside! I love the yarn you've been buying. I bought two skeins of a yarn that was very similar.... one is called Painted Desert and the other is Amethyst. I love the homespun feel of it! Do you have projects in mind?

  8. I'm so done with winter! Your pictures are pretty though, despite the subject matter.

  9. I'm amazed at how beautiful your snow is and then laugh because, if we had snow like this here in SC, we would be shut down for days. Peace and Blessings!
