A Old Heartshaped Tart Tin ...

Hello my dear friends,

I have another new pincushion to share with you today that I made a little while ago.

It is a neat and sweet small thing that I made from a vintage little tart tin in the shape of a heart and all the other bits and pieces I love to work with. Maybe not too simple but for sure pretty, decked with old buttons, lace, a litte antique key and a frill made from seam binding and all of it in very neutral colors.

And this is it ...

I definitely need to create more again because  I am so enjoying myself and I hope you have enjoyed my newest little creation.

I am busy, busy getting things listed in my Etsy shop and I am almost ready, so the next post will let you know, when my shop is ready. I am also going to share photos soon from a walk my daughers and I recently took with all the beauty of the season. I can not tell you how beautiful it was, but you will soon see for yourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to vistit me here today at Todolwen and I hope you have enjoyed your short stay.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Some New Autumn Fruit ...

 Hello my dear friends,

today I am sharing my newest pumpkins.

I chose to go with the "less is more" thought in mind. So no sparkle, no lace just simple pumpkins with bows made from seam binding in lovley colors and stems made from driftwood and ... I really like them! I made my first three from grey linen and I actually think that they have a somewhat elegant look to them.

I also made a few more with the same though of less is more but also with farmhouse/cottage life and style in mind and I again really like how the turned out. Simple can be beautiful, it just depends on what you perserve to be beautiful!

Just like my linen pumpkins, no sparkle or anything else. Nice fabric and other than a bow made from garden twine. These pumpkins are a little bigger than the ones I usually make and one day I might just go all out on size and make a huge one who knows, would be kind of neat I think!

I am not sure if I will be making any more Autumnfruit this year because it is slowly but surely time to get finally getstarted to work on the most wonderful time of the year ...Winter and Christmas. My mind is already filled with snow, frost and wintery and Christmassy things. I have a new design that I am so excited to share with you, so do come back soon and see what I have been up too.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful, safe and creative day.

Summertime Daisies ...

 Hello my dear friends,

I enjoy working with sari silk ribbon more and I always look for new creations to use it with and since I love to make pincushions and needlebooks, why not put these together? That was the thought I had some weeks ago and so I went to work on them right away. Once done I shared my finished pieces on my Instagram page but since my purple baby (laptop) was gone and I still had a few issues with my new laptop, I didn't get to sharing it on Todolwen until today.

I chose my favorite drop cloth and an antique pocket watch case to work with. I wanted the pincushion and needlebook to look pretty but simple and not too fussy.  With the less is more thought in my mind, I embellished them both only with some hand dyed seam binding in a lovely shade of green and my pretty white sari silk ribbon and glass beads daisies and that was it and I was very pleased with the way they turned out.

Here they are, my newest needlebook and pincushion set that I named ...

... "Summertime Daisies".

I can't tell you how happy I am, being more and more creative these past weeks, I have missed it so much! Hopefully it will stay that way for some time now so I will have many more new creations to share with you.

Thank you for visiting me today, here at Todolwen. It is always so nice when you do.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful, safe and creative day.

A Little Something In Brass ...

 Hello my dear friends,

I am really trying to keep busy and create these days and so far I am doing OK I think.

I am not making something new every single day but for sure more than I have been in the past and today I am sharing one of my newest pieces with you. It is a neat sewing tray and pincushion that I made from a small brass tray, a vintage chalis and a beautiful dragonfly embellishment that I just had to buy on one of my visits to Hobby Lobby (which I realy miss going to). It was almost like they were meant to be together once I turned them from individual pieces into my newest creation. They harmonized so nicely with eachother.

Here it is! I named it simply ...

"Peaceful Morning"

I hope you have enjoyed my newest creation, it was so much fun to make.

This piece and several others will be listed for sale in my Etsy shop very soon. I will let you know here on Todolwen when they will be available a day or two before so if you are interested in something, keep an eye out for that post.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me today and I hope you have enjoyed your short stay.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful, safe and creative day.

My Newest Pincushion "Velvet Truffle" ...

 Hello my dear friends,

today I sharing another new pincushion that I have recently made but not yet shared here on Todolwen.

I just love to use neat and a little unuaual pieces when it comes to making my pincushions and that of course goes for this one as well. I had found this beautiful tarnished lid in an antique shop and it just had to be mine and so it did but it then turned out to be one of those pieces that stayed in a box for the longest time before I finally refound it and worked with it.

Beautiful vintage velvet in a lovely shade of brown made the actuall pincushion and old millinery flowers and netting from an old pretty hat became the embellishments for it. Everything just harmonized so nicely together and that is why I stopped when I did, I didn't want to over do it.

And this is what I cam up with ...

... I named it "Velvet Truffle".

I hope you like my newest pincushion and I can already tell you that it won't be the last one like this!

I have found an even bigger lid to work with and I can't wait to do so sometime in the future. I have also found some other very neat tarnished pieces to make sewing caddies with again but I haven't started them yet. But I do have more new creations to share so I will be back soon again.

So until then ...

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful, safe and creative day.
