More Pocket Watch Creations Listed ...

Hello my dear friends,

two more of my pocket watch creations are looking for new homes.
Both of them are very lovely and it is time for them to put a smile on someone else's face.

The first one is my ...

... "Forget Me Not" pocket watch with tiny crochet blue flowers and a little white butterfly.
A hand dyed and crinkled bow in a harmonizing shade of blue embellishes this creation. The final touch is a small piece of sparkle.

The second one is my ...

... "My Sweet Valentine" pocket.

Tiny crochet flowers in the color of white and tiny hand dyed pale pink flowers 'grow' on a piece of vintage tatting. The flowers have little glass beads as their centers and a tiny crochet and hand dyed red heart rests amongst the little blooms. A bow made from hand dyed and crinkled seam binding give this piece it's final touch.

Both of these pocket watches are now listed for sale in my Etsy shop.

It was so nice of you to stop by today here at Todolwen and I hope you might visit me sometime again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Of Butterflies, Flowers and Vintage Timepiece Treasures ...

Hello my dear friends,

today's post is of more of my creations that I am letting go.

They are my pocket watch creations of little butterflies, flowers and vintage timepiece treasures. I made these almost 2 years ago and still love them now as much as I did when I created them but it is time to let them put a smile on someones face.

I crochet the tiny butterflies and flowers and I hand dyed the flowers and seam binding to harmonize with each other. Tiny glass beads live in the centers of the little flowers and pieces of green seam binding are the tiny leaves of the flowers.

And these are my three little pocket watch gardens ...

Garden 1 ...

Garden 2 ...

... and last but not least ...

... Garden 3.

All three of my little garden are now listed for sale in my Etsy shop.
Again there will be more listings coming up whenever I have time to do so.

It is so nice of you to stop by today here at Todolwen and I hope you will come back some time again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and that life is treating you kind.

Thread And Bits Of Silk ~ Part 2 ...

Hello my dear friends,

like promised, I am sharing my second Spring bunny with all of you today.

Again my trusty thread and bits of sari silk ribbon made my neat drop cloth hopper that bit prettier than it was before. This time I chose to embroider my bunny with a thistle plant. Bright purple flowers and subtle green leaves and a purple hand dyed and crinkled seam binding bow harmonize so nicely together.

My bunny before ...

... and my bunny now ...

.... after I put my embroidery needle away again.

I changed the bow from a subtle purple to a more vibrant one.

I just love the way this bunny has turned out, so sweet in my eyes.
I am enjoying embroidering like this so much that I just want to find something else that I can create and then embellish. Hmm ... I wonder what that could be?

Both of my Spring bunnies are now listed for sale in my Etsy shop, so why not pop over and take a look.

Update ...
My Spring bunny with the dandelions is now sold!

That's all for today but I will hopefully have something new to share with all of you soon again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Of Thread and Bits Of Silk ~ Part 1 ...

Hello my dear friends,

I just can't seem to get away from my Spring bunnies when it comes to be creative these days.

I do love to be creative, unfortunately it doesn't happen as often these days as I would like it to be because when I am busy making something, I am that little bit happier within myself. I love to sew, knit, crochet and also embroider. I remember when I was 5 and I did my very first sewing ... how proud I was back then.

When I was recently working on my newest tutorial for my Etsy shop, I had to make two of my Spring bunnies for it which turned into a sort of blank canvases for me a few days ago. I love their simple but lovely look but why not see how they could made that little bit more prettier.
I love to hand sew with extra strong thread. Actually most of my hand sewn creations are hand stitch with it and I love to embroider with it as well. Out came my trusty thread again and some other bits and a little while later my Spring bunny had a new look.

I wanted to embroider it with some flowers and leaves. I chose a plant that I have a sort of love/ hate relations ship with. I like it because it helps the bees survive, the cotton tails in our garden love to eat it and it's bright yellow blooms are like yellow polka dots in the green of the grass. But then I sort of hate it trying to take over over my lawn. Like I said, a love/hate thing but I think many of us have this when it comes to the dandelion. I chose to embroider my first bunny with it and I think it has turned out quite nicely. My drop cloth hopper is finished (again) and I am so happy to share him with you all of you today.

My little Spring bunny has gone from this ...

... simple and sweet, to this ...

... that bit prettier!

Leaves made from bits of green sari silk ribbon and flowers made from rich yellow thread have turned into a little piece of nature.

My second Spring bunny is almost done as well but that will be  for my next post tomorrow. So do come back if you would like to see what I did with the other drop cloth hopper.

It was so nice of you to stop by today and visit me here at Todolwen and I hope you enjoyed your short stay.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Finally Listed In My Etsy Shop ...

Hello my dear friends,

as always these days, things took much longer than I thought they would.

I had planned to has this tutorial done two weeks ago but life came in between. First some laptop issues, then issues with work being done in front of our house that went wrong, I got sick with a yucky cough and cold and last but not least, I forgot how difficult it could be trying to write a tutorial. ~ Like I said life came in between.

But now it is done and I am happy to share that I have finally listed my Spring bunny tutorial in my Etsy shop!

Have a wonderful weekend!

A New Tutorial In The Making ...

Hello my dear friends,

posts of mine these days are far and few and that is why I am so pleased to share this one with all of you today. It seems to me that it has been forever since I have been able to sit down and come up with something new to create but that is unfortunately how it is. I am hoping with brighter days, blue skies and sunshine my creativeness will return a little more and that soon.

I have wanted to make a new tutorial since some time now but it just never happened. My mind was a blank for the longest time and it was and still is so frustrating. One morning last week it was different though. I sat down at our dining table at the big window that overlooks our garden and just started to doddle. To my surprise slowly but surely a simple shape that I liked started to appear on the piece paper in front of me. After changing it a little here and a little there, I was happy with my design. All I had to do was enlarge it to the size I wanted it to be and it was done! A complete new idea ~ joy! Since I was "on a roll", I really wanted to take advantage of it, so my next step was to head to my creative space and find everything I would need to actually make my newest idea come "to life".

A few hours later and there it was ... my newest creation finished!

This almost never happens to me when I am making a new pattern but this time it did! It worked out first time and I couldn't be happier with it! I kept it simple but sweet. Not too much detail but that it how I wanted it to be. Made from my favorite grey drop cloth with long ears, a little white puffy tail and a colorful bow, both made from crinkled seam binding and a little embroidery ... I liked it a lot! No more, no less and  I am so happy with it.

And this is it, my newest making ... a little Spring bunny.

I named him "Sage".

Isn't he a neat little white tailed hopper with his nice green bow?!
He is able to stand freely due to being weighted down where his feet are.

He has lovely long ears.

An embroidered hint of little toes.

And the inner of his ears are also embroidered.
I tried a few things but this is the look I liked the most ...
the herringbone stitch.

His little white tail is just the neatest in my eyes.

My new bunny appeals to me so much because of how simple he is.
Well, for now that is. I have just had an idea on how he could maybe be embellished a little more but it is only an idea at the moment.

Right now I am working on the tutorial which I will be listing in my Etsy shop as soon as it is done. Hopefully that will be in a few days. I haven't written one in forever and it taking me a little longer getting the settings, measurements and instructions right and of course the look of it too. So if you are interested in making one yourself, stayed tuned. I will let you know when it is available here on Todolwen.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me here today and I hope you have enjoyed your short stay and might come back some time again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
