Sari Silk And Hemp ... 'White Roses'..

Hello my dear friends,

I have been very busy and I happy to be able to share my newest creation made from sari silk and hemp today.

I think this is my favorite one that I have created so far as you will be able to tell by how many photographs I have taken of it.Again I couldn't decided which ones to use, so I used them all.

For this nest, I took inspiration from one of  VanGogh's beautiful paintings 'White Roses' and that it also the name of my newest nest ...

... 'White Roses'.

It is just such a lovely nest with pretty white roses and little rosebuds 'growing' on it.

I can't tell you how much I my newest creation.

I must say that it was nice to use beautiful colors in my previous two sari silk nests but I do think that the more subtle and gentle shades of white, off white and ivory colors are for me after all or at least for most of the time.

I hope you have enjoyed my latest creation as much as I have enjoy making it.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me here again at Todolwen ... it is always so nice when you do.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Little Rosebuds ..

Hello my dear friends,

singed edged flowers have been around since a while now and are so lovely and quite easy to make.
As you have seen in my recent posts, I have just started to use them in my sari silk ribbon nests and I am liking them so much.

I had been trying to find the perfect little tutorial since some time now on how to make little fabric rosebuds but I never found exactly what I was looking for really. Especially now, since I was working on my newest sari silk ribbon nest, I really wanted to make little rosebuds to go with my roses and because I couldn't find what I was looking for, I had to come up with it myself . I was actually surprised how fast I worked something out that I really liked, was easy to make and that  turned out exactly the way I wanted them too. I love their look ~ they were perfect for my roses in my eyes.

Green sari silk ribbon was add as leaves first ...

... and then my little rosebuds.

The are so sweet!

Oh yes ... the are just right!

And here is a tiny sneak peek of where they are now living ...

... on my latest nest creations.

If you have a few spare moments, do stop by tomorrow when I will share my newest sari silk ribbon nest which I have named ...

... 'White Roses'.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Sari Silk And Hemp .. 'Flowering Arches' ..

Hello my dear friends,

as promised, today I am sharing my newest sari silk ribbon nest with all of you lovely bloggers.

Again I took inspiration from a piece by Monet, this time it was his painting 'Flowering Arches'.
The colors of this nest are much more subtle than my first one. Lovely shades of pink and purple harmonize very nicely together with the pail pink roses and green sari silk leaves.

And this is it ..

Tucked inside the hemp, again two little wooden eggs lay sleeping peacefully.

I hope you have enjoyed my newest making.

I am already working on my next creation.
It too is a sari silk nest which I will be sharing very soon. Again it is based on an artist's painting that inspired me. If you would like to see what it looks like, do stop by some time soon again and visit me here at Todolwen.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Sari Silk And Hemp ..' Water Lilies' ..

Hello my dear friends,

I think sometimes you should break away from what you are used to doing and try something a little different. Well at least that is what I am trying to tell myself. If it is a good thing or not, that is still to be seen. I love the colors I use in my creations ... subtle, gentle and just lovely, but I thought it might be a good idea to try and work with a little more color, and when I say a little more color I mean a lot and see how I feel about it.

I had bought some beautiful sari silk ribbon in these stunning colors. I really liked my first sari silk ribbon nest and so with Spring and Easter on their way my thoughts were with a little nest creation again. After I saw the way my first ones turned out I was even more eager to make another one ... or two. This time it will be with a little twist. In this creation it is the nest that holds all of the color and not the eggs unlike in more traditional Easter nests.

The silk ribbons I bought had been named because of their vibrant colors. I liked it so much that I decided to name my nest after it! So today I am sharing my newest nest with you ...

... my 'Monet's Waterlilies' nest.

I like to leave all of the little bits of fluff and ends untidy because it gives the nest so much more character and I did the same with the leaves which are also made from a sari silk ribbon.

I hope you have enjoyed my newest creation.

In my 'nest' post ... see what I did there?... I will be sharing my second nest: 'Flowering Arches'.
This nest has also been inspired by a painting by the great artist Monet.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me here at Todolwen and I hope you will return some time soon again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
