For The Love Of Needle Books ~ Queen Anne's Lace ...

Hello my dear friends,

and last but not least, my last post for today.
It is about my the latest needle book I have made for the time being.

Just like all of my other needle books, this one too is made from drop cloth but this time I decided to embroider it with Queen Anne's Lace by using upholstery thread and small white glass beads from Europe. As subtle as it is, it is just as lovely as all of the others to me.

All of my needle books will be listed for sale in my Etsy shop very soon, possibly as early as tomorrow evening.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me here at Todolwen today. It is always so nice when you do and I hope you come back some time again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Stay safe and stay healthy.

For My Love Of Needle Books ~ Bold Pansies ...

Hello my dear friends,

and now for part three of "my love for making needle books" which is about my hand dyed pansies.

I had a few doilies with crochet pansies hiding away in a drawer but I wasn't fond of their washed out colors so I after looking at the pansies that I had growing on our front porch, I took to dying them more vibrant colors.

And here they are my "Bold Pansies" needle books.

This was my first one ...

... which I gifted it to a dear friend of mine who loves flowers so much.

My second needle book with bold blooms...

... will also be listed in my Etsy shop.

The next post I am sharing is the last post for today.

Hugs.

For My Love Of Needle Books ~ Pretty In Blue ...

Hello my dear friends,

here is the second part of my newest needle book creations.

For these ones I have chosen pretty blue flowers from an old vintage doily that I had and antique lace. Some of the needle books also have hand dyes inside pages in a lovely shade of light blue.

And here are my "Pretty In Blue" needle books.

For My Love Of Needle Books ~ Buttons and Old Lace ...

Hello my dear friends,

it started about a month or so ago where I just couldn't stop myself from making a new needle book every few days. So far I have made I think I have made 9 or more of them and I am not thinking of stopping just yet. Drop cloth was of course my go to fabric and together with old lace, buttons and a few other bits and pieces they have become newest creations. Unfortunately it has taken me until now to finally share them all with. And since I have many photos to share, I am sharing each style in a separate post but all of them today so you will have lots to look at.

And here are the first ones. For these needle books I went with old lace and button as the theme and therefor the are call ...

Subtle colors with a touch of elegance but also a little bit rustic at the same time and just lovely in my eyes, no wonder I can't seem to stop making these. I hope you have enjoyed my newest creations and now to the next style in my next post.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

More Blowy Flowers Listed ...

Hello my dear friends,

today's post is a short one to let you know that I have just listed more ...

... of my dandelion blowy flowers in my Etsy shop.

But also to tell you that I am having issues with my Todolwen Facebook page ... I can not get on to it! For some reason when I sign in it says that the page is not working, so unfortunately I can't share on there right now but hopefully it will be resolved very soon.

I hope you are all well and staying home as much as possible and stay safe and healthy.
Things will get better, they might not go back to what they were but they will get better. You just have to do your part and be good about staying home and wearing a mask when you go out and wash your hands a lot and of course keep social distance as hard as it is. I didn't hug my older daughter for 94 days until she should up one day covered and taped up in clear garbage bags and we hugged for about 20 seconds because she had no air in the bags. So I really do get all of you that miss their loved ones and friends but we all need to pull together to beat this and we will!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Stay home and stay safe and healthy.

Hugs,

It Is Done! My "Garden Twine Nest" Kit Is Now Listed! ...

Hello my dear friends,

remember my twine nest that I had shared with you a little while ago? ...

... And I had wanted to make a kit for it?

 Well, I did!

It has taken what seems forever to put it together but now it is finally done!

And my "Garden Twine Nest" kit is now listed in my Etsy shop but the kits are limited. I will make them as they are sold and I have only enough supplies to make 10 of these kits.

The nest is a little rustic but then again a little delicate too. It has a farmhouse or cottage charm to it but then also a little bit of shabby chic. You can basically create many different looks for it and make it your own with all the bits and pieces I have gathered together and put in this kit. I have also included some of my very own designs, my dandelion blowy flowers and my sari silk daisies!

And this is what the kit includes ...

~  1 six inch crochet nest from double garden twine
~  4 pussy willow twigs
~  3 wooden eggs
~  coconut fiber for nesting material  (unfortunately I could not add dried grass)
~  3 of my sari silk daisies
~  4 of my dandelion blowy flowers
~ 12 feet of seam binding (3 feet each in chalk white, eggshell, ascot grey and metal green)
~  3 feet of white cotton lace
~  some punched out book page butterflies
~  some sari silk snippets in green (can be sprinkled on top of the coconut fibers to add color)
~  3 feet each of two types of string
~  4 paper tags ( 3 blank and 1 handwritten)
~  1 antique little key
(The nest, blowy flowers and daisies are handmade by me.)

You can embellish/decorate your nest with as little or as much as you like. You could also include some of your own bits and pieces if you wanted too. Best thing is that you can start being creative as soon as you open the box!

Here are just a few examples of what you could do ...

Putting the nest together is a simple as 1, 2, 3 really!

So, if you are interested, why not pop over to my Etsy shop and take a look?!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and see what I have been up too. I have been busy making new things but haven't gotten around sharing them with all of you just yet but I am working on it.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
