I Must Admit, I Have A Thing ..

Hello my dear friends,

I must admit that I have a new little addiction ... I am addicted to making my sari silk ribbon and hemp nests. You have no idea how much joy I get from making these lovely creations and it is so peaceful too.

If I wake up early, I sit at the dining room table, watch the birds and squirrels in our garden and work away quietly for myself. I love the search for the right sari silk ribbon, in the right color and they are so many beautiful ones. Did you know that depending on which flowers I want to use for one of my nests, at times it might require that I cut between 40 and over 100 circles and singed the edges of them. I am not sure if there is a part that I don't like but if I had to pick one, it would be singing my fingers instead of the fabric. My most favorite part is when I sew the circles together and they then become flowers ~ love it!  And of course then there is the assembling and at the end the reward ~ a new nest creation. Like I said, it is so much enjoyment for me every single time.

After planting some of my cedars on Saturday,  I took to relaxing last Sunday and this is what I chose to do ... I am working on my next two newest nests.

They are going to be very subtle and pleasant in their colors and they will look very lovely once everything comes together as one. I will share them once they are done which should be hopefully tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping by today here at Todolwen. It is always so nice when you do.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  4. Oh yes, YOU DO HAVE A THING ... and that "THING" is perfection, creativity and a flair for all things beautiful. Indeed!

Love these "petal'd" flowers the best.

  6. I use a wood burning tool to sing the edges of my paper and ribbon. Maybe you could "cut" your flowers with one.
