Simply Elegant ..

Hello my dear friends,

I had worked outside most of last Sunday to try get closer to finishing my river bed and I am happy to say that I am down to the last approx. 10 feet!

After that I felt quite worn out and was in need of some 'time out' from the back yard ~ not too long though because I want it completed soon. After I finished for the day and bad weather was pulling in, I needed something for my little creative part of me ~ some indoor creativeness!

And there is one thing I will always love creating and that is a nice pincushions!
I hadn't made any new ones for some time now but better later than never I say. I had some lovely pieces to work with and old and tarnished treasures look lovely when combined together with different bits and pieces.

I 'married' this old candle holder with ...

... a little tarnished drinking vessel.

It actually took me a few days to finally sit down and take the time to create this new piece and a few more to sit down and write this post so I could share it with you and now here it is, my newest pincushion creation ...

... 'Simply Elegant'.

A piece from an old tablecloth and crystals from an vintage chandelier were perfect for this creation and I must say that it turned out just the way I wanted it too.

Currently I am working on another pincushion which I hopefully will be able to share with all you lovely bloggers tomorrow. So don't forget now to come back and visit me, to see what I have been up too ~ I always love it when you do!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  2. Karen, I believe this is the most lovely of all of your pincushions, and I have loved all of them! I even have one right here in my dining room as I type. Every time I see my pincushion, I am pleased at how charming it is, and of course I think of you at the same time (always a good thing). I generally don't go online, but choose to enjoy my emails when they are downloaded to my computer. But THIS pincushion is indeed, so elegant, that I had to tell you my of my delight upon seeing it, right away!

I appreciate receiving your emails and enjoy every one of them. Thank you very much for being you, and for sharing yourself and your creations with all of your fans.

Oh yes, and good luck at finishing that river bed, sooner rather than later.

  8. Lovely pincushion with such delightful elements. Your yardwork will be such a huge reward when you are completed and enjoying your wonderful river of stones. I have been working outside in our dry hot weather. Always so much to maintain like trimming Whooly Thyme around flagstones at the pond. I cherish my home and surroundings with Creative Bliss...
