It Happened Again ...

Hello my dear friends,

remember a few weeks ago I told you how a young bird landed in our pool because it mistook the water for the solar blanket. I saw it through the kitchen window and ran outside. I grabbed the pool leaf net and helped the bird out of the water. I was so grateful that I was able to save it from drowning.

Yesterday morning I was again standing at my kitchen sink and looking out of the window whilst doing the dished and it happened again ! I saw a two sparrows flying over the pool. The little female sparrow suddenly started to fly back and forth quite fast, trying to figure out where to land and then suddenly she was in the water. She began to try frantically get out but her feathers just got wetter with every more.

I dropped everything and ran outside. The pool brush was laying on the deck from me using it in the early morning, so I grabbed it and tried to use it to get the little feathered creature out of the water. It had almost worked. I had lowered the brush under the little bird but it was so scared it jumped off the brush too soon and landed right back in the water. I had to get her out quickly so in the end I just used my hands. I carefully scooped it up in my palms and then placed it onto the grass and in the sunshine so it could dry and recover from it's wet and scary ordeal.

It stayed there for a little while and didn't move, it's wings stretched out from it's body and in shock. I sat further away on the deck watching it from a far to make sure it was safe from the hawks that were flying about it. I did manage to take a few photos before it suddenly got up and hopped off to hide under one of our large grasses for more rest. That is when I went back inside the house, hoping that she would soon be well enough to fly away again.

I can not tell you how grateful I am that I was able to save this little being. It put a tiny smile in my heart.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
