I Have Seem To Have Lost It Again ..

Hello my dear friends,

I am not a very happy cookie these days. I am searching for my 'mojo'. I seem to have lost it again and I just hate it when that happens because my being creative comes to a grinding halt. No doubt I am sure you all know what I am talking about.

My work table right now is a bit of a mess and has no signs of anything creative going on.

Even though I have lovely treasures to work with and new ideas that want to be turned into creations ... nothing is happening! I would compare myself right now to an old timer car. You know, one of the really old ones that needed be be cranked. Well, you can turn and turn that crank as much as you want and the motor is just not starting ... that is exactly how I feel. Maybe I need a good dose of  'get in gear'?! I will take some of it today and see what the effect will be. If it works will have to be seen.
So whenever you have a spare moment, do stop by and maybe I will have something new to share with you.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  1. Hang in there m'dear. It will come. Go somewhere new - drink in your surroundings - throw your arms out and embrace beautiful country scenery - inhale deeply and let that fresh air flow through your lungs - thank God we have the ability to see in colour- it will come....:)

  3. I know what you mean. And sometimes there's just too much going on and too many things around that it's overwhelming and I don't know where to start. Hang in there. Maybe you just need some time to inventory what you have and sketch out some ideas. For instance, what will you do with that gorgeous crystal door knob?

  4. Go somewhere that inspires you, an antique store, a garden, a beautiful nature walk, a craft fair or a quilt show. I find that when I look at creativity in areas different from my usual medium, I have more ideas that flow. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and not force it. Take some time to recharge your batteries, we'll all still be here when you get back.

  5. Karen, I find that happens in my own design life too, and I truly believe it's because creative people are constantly giving 'out' and our mind needs time to rest, and be refreshed with some putting 'in'. That's when I immerse myself in reading, adventuring to new blogs and places, a few hours spent on Pinterest or in my favourite British Country magazines...within days I am 'filled' and ready to move forward again. xx

  6. Oh Karen, I know exactly what you mean. I have projects to do, and just don't have the creative juices to do them. I want to, and everyday I think "maybe today I'll do something." But by days end, nothing. Hopefully, it won't last long for either of us, and soon we'll be up and running again!

  7. I am going through that also. But seem to lack energy. Could be the hot weather here in California although it could be worst. There is so much to do but it just sits there also. But " nothing ever stays the same"... so that's what keeps me optimistic since I am not a melancholy type and love being around people. Prayers out to all who go through this even if you might not believe in them.

  8. I'm feeling the heat and lack of mojo, too. Maybe these rubbery times are meant to help us appreciate the fluffy times when they come back. So here's hoping that things 'fluff up' for us all pretty soon.

  9. Don't worry, everyone needs a break. Then it goes with fresh momentum.

  10. Well I'll tell you what, Karen. I think when you find yours, you'll find that mine is holding hands with yours. I think they both are hiding from us.

Not necessarily a bad thing, I'm thinking. We need to regroup every once in a while (and so do they!

    Have a splendid day.

  11. Oh Karen, I"m so sorry the no mojo bug caught up with you too. I seem to go all or nothing lately.... Five projects at once or no projects at all. I'm starting to crochet some Christmas gifts, so hopefully this will give my mojo a kick in the pants! Love ya' Patricia B

  12. Losing your creative mojo isn't so terrible in the summer when at least you can spend time outdoors (altho' I suppose that can be small comfort too). Try what I do - set yourself a goal of working on something for fifteen minutes. Then you can walk away and go do something else. Doing that a couple of times a day works wonders. Pretty soon you won't want to stop when your 15 minutes is up.

  13. Karen, you're such a creative soul, you'll get those creative juices flowing again. I do know how you feel though. I've always been given the advice to make a card or a tag and you know what, it works!
