my mojo is slowly trying to find it's way back to me I feel and hope. I sat down and worked on a new creation which I am sharing with all of you lovely bloggers today.
I was out and about recently and stopped by one of the charity shops I love to visit. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but something caught my eye. You know when you see something and it just talks to you ~ this piece did just that. It was folded in a Ziploc bag and laying in a basket when I saw it and not even thinking to open the bag I bought it. Once home I opened it finally and inside I found this ...

... it is an hand embroidered top of a pillowcase that was unfinished but that is what made it even more charming to me. (Unfortunately I couldn't capture the pale green color properly in my photos.)
I could already picture what I wanted to create from it.

Amquick sketch first and then I went to work right away and this is what my idea looks like in real ...
... a rustic pincushion with one of my little fabric strawberries and I think it turned out rather neat!
I hope you enjoyed my newest creation today.
My plans are to try and use the entire pillow top if possible. I would like to make another pincushion like this and maybe a few other pieces. I will have to see what I can come up with.
Sadly I won't be taking part in Karen Valentine's 'Where Bloggers Create' this year.
I wasn't able to get ready for it in time and I also feel that it wasn't meant to be for me this year but I will be there for sure if it happens in 2016! I have a busy weekend ahead of me but I will try and visit many of your creative spaces and I wish you all a wonderful time.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you visit me here at Todolwen soon again.
I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.
Have a peaceful and creative day.
Olá Karen, realmente maravilhosa a sua criação, parabéns, feliz final de semana,

Karen ... this is absolutely the most darling little piece you've made. It just makes me smile over and over again. So simple yet so charming.
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed that you aren't sharing where you create this year - was looking forward to seeing where the magic happens. Next year! Maybe I'll show off my teeny tiny little cramped spot then, too.
Happy crafting!

It's wonderful that you are able to give an abandoned piece of precious embroidery a whole new life. So much better than languishing in a drawer or worse, thrown away.
ReplyDeleteYou've given me inspiration once again. This is so lovely. I really love that you are using someing meant to be something and that you are using it unfinished and finding a new life for it. Wonderfully done!
