A New Feathered Visitor ..

Hello my dear friends,

you all know how much I love all the critters that live or visit our garden and it is always so neat when a new visitors shows up.

A few days ago I was throwing a few peanuts to some of the squirrels in our backyard and a noise caught my attention. Looking around I soon found the source of the noise ...

... it was a Blue Jay sitting in our maple tree.

He or she was such a lovely bird and came back several times to get a peanuts from me which were then hid in our and the neighboring backyards. It was so nice to watch this lovely feather being.

The next day a neat thing happened. I was sitting at our dining table and the familiar noise of our new feathered visitor same from our tree again and there was the feathered critter, waiting to be feed and so I did.

The Blue Jay was so  happy to get some tasty peanuts, he or she came real close to where I was sitting on the deck outside so that I could get this great photos of it.

I wonder if  I will be visited tomorrow again?!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  1. I miss Blue Jays. Don't see them here in Arizona, but when I lived on the East coast, they were always in our yard and enjoyed bathing even in the snowy winters. Wonderful new friend for you!

  2. Your Blue Jay is pretty, but I always heard they drive away other birds.

  3. Blue jays are such fun to watch. We have several that visit our feeder and sometimes they are such nice creatures - some of them will sit and wait for the mourning doves to finish eating, but they always drive away the blackbirds. The past couple of years we've had a very large blue jay come but we haven't seen him this year. He was way bigger than any of the others and definitely demanded respect.

  4. Oh how lucky you are to have such a beautiful bird visit your bird feeder. Our birds seems to have deserted us except for the Blue-Tits & the Great-Tits, I call those the bullies. as they chase away all the other birds. We stopped putting birdseed & nuts on the ground for the other types of birds as the ferral cats are about and I don't want to see the remains of dead birds lying around..Enjoy watching your birds.

  5. When we lived in our other condo (we moved last year) within a few seconds of throwing out the peanuts on the deck, you could hear the blue jay signaling that the peanuts were out. And just as quickly they would come.

  6. We have several Blue Jays and they are so vocal this time of year. They really like the peanuts and sunflower seeds in my feeders.

  8. I love Blue Jays. They are one of my favorite birds. I have a feather from one that must be close to 50 years old. I found it when I was a child and have saved it all these years. It is about 3 inches long. I am lucky enough that I have one that comes to visit the suet feeder outside my window. (I live in southeastern North Carolina, about 10 miles from the ocean.) Thank you for sharing how a Blue Jay has situated itself into your life.
