Update .. Not Again ..

Hello my dear friends,

I have been thinking and enough is enough now. After receiving a comment from one of my followers, which I have included in this post, I am really unhappy and I don't see why this person should not be named anymore.

Don't get me wrong .. I have e-mailed her twice now asking her to please remove her name off of my photographs and sketches but no reply so far and she is still doing the same thing as we speak ... adding her name to photos that don't be long to her and linking them to her blog!

Because of her my butterfly tutorial has been copied and place on over 100 other blogs now with no mention of who the original creator was. If you read the comment you will be able to find the blog and please check if you find any of your work on it too. I am trying to find as many pins about my butterfly tutorial and leaving a comment claiming my rights to it and you should do the same too!

This is what she does ...

... these are my photos as you know them from my tutorial but now take a look in the bottom right corner of my phots and pattern page ... her name!

This is the comment I received on my 'flutter~by' tutorial ....

'A Russian website has ripped off your tutorial and watermarked all your photos as their own. I'm sure you are now aware of this as they are pinned all over Pinterest. Maybe if other people see the name of this website they can check and see if their tutorials have also been stolen (because thousands are listed and watermarked with her site name): http://marrietta.ru/post257909937/

I am the last person the be rude but I have to be the one to get this point across to her that it is wrong to do what she is doing then so be it. I am sorry if some of you might not understand me but I have to do this not only for myself but for others too.

Many hugs and thanks to all of you,

Karen B.

  1. Dear Karen, I think this is so sad that someone would choose to rip off your work. I absolutely love your blog and have been so happy that you choose to share your beautiful work with us. 2. This .ru website is doing this with a lot of copyrighted material. It is a Russian website and I think there are many contributors. They don't care about giving credit or copyright laws for that matter. When I see something they have posted on pinterest that I know should not be on there and that is a copyright infringement, I report the pin to pinterest for a copyright violation and they usually will remove it. This website is the biggest violator of this sort of thing. I don't believe it will end anytime soon. Don't expect an answer, I doubt they speak English or even care. I wish the site could be taken down....for good. Hugs, Nan

  5. That makes me so mad, Karen. All your hard work and recognition is stolen.
This happened to a friend of mine and she fought long and hard to have the thief's website shut down. No original work at all - people steal constantly on the web. To me, copying other's work - I mean an exact copy, is stealing, as well.

I hope she gets the message loud and clear, this is not allowed.

  6. How horrible, I really feel for you. I think she should be shut down. You need to get a watermark and before uploading your photo's watermark them.

  7. Thanks for naming the culprit. I notice that she has taken her name off the pics, so just maybe she's getting the message loud and clear. Sure do wish I knew how to leave a comment on her blog, but fortunately for her I don't understand Russian - lol!

Please do watermark because those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter.

  8. I don't understand how someone can find any satisfaction or joy claiming someone else' creativity as their own. It baffles me. I enjoy visiting your blog and seeing YOUR creations and the encouragement I get from your work. Thank you for sharing it with us. Please know that your readers appreciate you and are disappointed that one artist would do this to another artist.

  10. I'm sorry to read that your tutorials have been 'stolen' and even now this person has removed your tutorial from her blog they are appearing on other blogs and being pinned. I know exactly how you feel as many of my designs were posted on a Russian and/or Chinese website and did serious damage to my business. So much so I was thinking of giving up. I worked out who the person was actually posted to the website was, a longtime customer of mine, but as much as I asked that my designs to be removed as far as I am aware they are still there.

Thank you for posting your tutorials for others to enjoy. I especially like the Flutter-By and the little crochet flowers.
