A Tarnished 'Get~Together'

Hello my dear friends,

so nice that you are visiting me here at Todolwen. I had mentioned a few days ago that I was working on something and now I can share my newest creation with you.

I have been wanting to make a little sewing stand for some time now ~ I just hadn't found the right tarnished pieces for it until now. I had started this creation a few days ago and finally finished it last night. It took me a bit longer than I thought because of the drying time for the glue. Looking at the individual pieces ~ there are four ~ I didn't think that they would compliment each other so well as they do. (Unfortunately I forgot to take a before picture of this creation) I must say that I actually like this little tarnished creation so much I might collect a few new pieces to make another one. As you all know I love sharing many pictures so you won't miss a thing!

And this is my little tarnished 'get~together' ...

Here you can see all four tattered and tarnished pieces of the sewing stand.

Just like with other creations of mine ...

... less is more in this case!

I hope you have enjoyed my lastest little making!

It would be nice if you stopped by here at Todolwen some time again and until then ...

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.

  1. You are just too darned clever! What an amazing creation. I adore it.

  2. Oh...that's just fabulous! The embellishments are wonderful too! Especially that adorable tatted doily! Thank you for sharing this!...Nancy :o)

  3. I love the stand! Also, I hope you are feeling better, and enjoying spring, even though you are preparing for Christmas....

  4. I love this fresh take on stacking items to make something useful and different. I have quite a few silver plated items that are quite damaged and will never be beautiful shiny display pieces, so this is definitely something I'd like to try! Thanks for posting.

  5. This is most delightful! Love it! what did you use to attach the metal pieces together? I love to see what you come up with. Always special pieces.

  6. Just beautiful sweet Karen!!! I LOVE IT! And I love it even more that you left the tarnish too :) It's always wonderful to see what you're creating, thank you always for sharing!! hugs and love, Dawn

  7. Beautiful!! It's amazing what you can come up with to use things that would otherwise be cast off. I'll look at my old tarnished pieces differently from now on.

  8. I love 'making-do', too! It is such a pleasure to use overlooked treasures to create a thing of beauty for all to behold.

    Great job as usual!

  9. Oh my I love this. I'm going to have to take another look at some of my tarnished items.. see if I can come close to recreating this. Even if I didn't sew I'd love this. What inspiration.. wish I had your creative mind!!!

  15. Love the tarnished look. Now I will have to keep an eye open for some goodies like these to make one for myself ... BUT, what kind of glue did you use?
