ReplyDeleteThe little curlicues on peas - and some other plants - are called tendrils. They help the plant to 'grab on' to surrounding plants, to lattices, supports, etc. And when I grew sugar snap peas last year, I used a tomato cage so they could climb up and have support (instead of laying on the ground, where they were more vulnerable). I could hold the end of the tendril up to the wire of the cage for a minute and watch it grab on. Nature (i.e., God's Creation) is an awesome sight to behold indeed!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day a bit late...
