A 'Golden' Finding ..

Hello my dear friends,

I am normally not a huge fan of gold colored findings but the one I am sharing with you today, is the one I just couldn't walk away from.

I found this piece just last weekend on one of my junking journeys. It is a candle holder (but that is about to change), made of brass and it is able to hold three candles in what looks like to be morning glory blossoms that are held upright on leaves that have become the stand. I had actually been on the lookout for a piece like this since some time now, of course with a particular creations in mind for it.

Isn't it just such a neat piece?!

I have always wanted to make a really 'different' pincushion creation, something larger and special and that is where this piece comes into the picture. I am hoping it will turn out to be something really neat when it is done. I haven't made my mind up yet on which fabric I am going to use or the color of it. Neither do I know if I should leave the candle holder as is, in it's original color or maybe paint it. In the end I am sure I will make the right choices and once completed I will of course share it will all you lovely bloggers. When will that be? ... I have no idea. I am so busy with so many different projects right now that it is almost too much all at once but then again it's me we are talking about and one project at a time just won't do it for me as you all know.

But do come back and visit me sometime again here at Todolwen and see what has been going on.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  7. I'm not a fan of brass either - I far prefer tarnished silver. It will be interesting to see whether you leave this piece as is or end up painting it. Even more fun to see what it ultimately becomes after you've worked your magic!
