My Old Drawers ..

Hello my dear friends,

as I mentioned yesterday I worked on some old drawers of mine this is what I am sharing with you today.

A little while ago I found this picture on Pinterest and  thought it that would be so nice to have these little drawers because they were just so neat and then I stopped and thought again ... then walked upstairs into my studio and smiled.

Why?  ...

Because of these ...

... my set of flat drawers!
I bought this piece about two years ago in a second hand store for $5 and at first I almost didn't ... can you believe it!? Now my drawers don't look at neat as the ones from Pinterest ... just yet!
Nothing a little time, paint, sandpaper and wood stain can't fix I am sure.

At first it looked like it would be easier said than done.
I just couldn't find any card label holders that would fit my flat drawers so I had to make some fit. And that was easy after all with the help of some tin snips. Once that was sorted everything else fell into place and ...

... I was happy! I love the way they look now.

But those weren't the only drawers that I have recently worked on.

One evening some time last year, whilst on a walk I had picked up these smaller drawers from the curbside on our street and once home they were placed in the garage and left there until now.
With my reorganizing my creative studio and after it was de-cluttered, I was in need of more shelf and storage space too and that's where these 4 'wooden boxes' were exactly what I was looking for. No sooner thought and the work started.

A quick sanding, ...

... repainting and slight distressing, ...

... the cover from an old music sheet booklet and ...

... then some hanging hardware ...

... and my new shelf was completed.

Unfortunately my wall space in the meantime had become somewhat limited so only one drawer was used as a shelf and the other three become storage for my paints and larger tools that would now live under my old chest of drawers. They still have the hardware to be hung on the wall but to make sure I wouldn't scratch the floor it has been covered will felt pieces for now.

I love it when you take something old that you have and give it a new look and all that just with a new coat of paint! I wonder what else I can find to transform?!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kid.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
