Snow In April And New Little Cupboard Mice

Hello my dear friends,

I was hoping to get some work finally done in my front and back yard, but ...

... that is not going to happen yet, because it SNOWED again!

Can you believe it? It is now April 20th and we had snow two days ago almost all morning! I really do love the white ice fairies falling from the sky, but now it's enough!

Another little setback is that I won't be having my garage sale either, since rain has been reported for all day on the 23rd! Well, I will just have to wait and pick another day for it. One good thing is that there are two big dates for me coming up. A huge church sale and an even bigger rummage sale!! I always wait so patiently for these two events to happen and next month they will! I will let you know if I find anything neat or interesting after I have been.

I did manage to create something in the past couple of days ...

now I have a few more little critters living in my home!

I used vintage tart tins to give them a wee place to sleep and they seem to be very happy!

I just love my Cupboard Mice!! I was so happy when I actually got the look of  the mouse the way I wanted it. The design and pattern took me 2 days and about 13 trials and some very sore fingers. Now once I make a little critter, I just have to find new places for it to live in.
( I am sorry to say, but the pattern for my "Cupboard Mice" will not be for sale or be made into a tutorial - I hope you understand)

Like the sweet Dawn from "The Feathered Nest" I tend to have a lot of different projects and/or ideas lined up all at the same time, which can be a good thing, but on the other hand I don't know which one to finish first because they are all fun to do. I am thinking about trying something out for Easter or Mother's Day maybe next. I will just have to wait and see, but if I do I will share it with you.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

Karen B.

  1. Hi Karen
I can't say I'm not disappointed that we won't get to see how you created your lovely little Cupboard Mice. Having said that I quite understand, you have been more than generous in sharing. You previously mentioned that you may open an online shop, I can only hope that those sweet little mice sneak into it from time to time????
Easter blessings to you and yours.

  4. Karen, they're so sweet! And I certainly understand that you want to keep these for yourself and not share the how-to! You're entitled. :-) They look adorably sleepy!
And yes...we can do without that white stuff, can't we!
    Hugs, Diane

  5. Your little mice are adorable, and they do look quite cozy in those tart tins. I did not realize they are so small!!
It is OK to keep some things just for you, you have been so generous with your other patterns.
Speaking of other patterns, have you seen all the feathers Diane Knott is making?
Beautiful, and all because of your tutorial.

  6. Karen, oh my! Word's gotten around that I've made more feathers! LOL! And yes, in reply to your question - I'd be honored if you posted the picture! It's all because of YOUR inspiration! :-) I made MORE yesterday! I will be taking pictures of them on the tags I made using the fabric flowers I cut. Look what you started! :-)
Hugs and a Happy Easter to you too!
