And One Makes Three ..

Hello my dear friends,

I just couldn't resist to create another little pumpkin yesterday, since three is not a crowd but a gathering and that is what I am sharing with all you Lovelies today. It is the smallest of my set of three pumpkins now and so sweet. I made it from a lovely muslin that I bought in Michigan a few months ago.

And this is it ... my newest little pumpkin.

It is such a sweet little pumpkin and it goes perfectly together with the other two that I have made as you will send at the end of this post.

The muslin is of a high quality and  it also looks so pretty, unfortunately I am not sure that it will show up on the photo for you to see.

  

And here are my three little pumpkins together ... take a look!

Now all I have to do is to find a nice spot for them to live.

Whilst working on my latest little pumpkin, I couldn't stop myself from making a few more of these neat little fruits but this time I made them more traditional in color and with a specific purpose but that is all for another post.

Time To Create Another Pumpkin Or Two ..

Hello my dear friends,

I had so much fun making my drop cloth pumpkin and since it needed a friend, I just had to make another one to keep my first pumpkin a little company. Whilst I was out and about at Fabricland a few days ago buying fabric I needed to a different project, I found a lovely drapery fabric that I had to have. Well, at least a little piece of it. It was perfect to make a pumpkin creation with, so that is what I did. And that is what I am sharing with you Lovelies today, my second little pumpkin.

This pumpkin is a little larger than the first one and I chose an old knife handle as the stem for it and again it turned out very neat in my eyes.

I had bought this neat broach at least 3 years ago and it has been waiting patiently in one of my doors for it's turn to shine and now it does.

I am very happy with my newest pumpkin and the two of them look very nice together. Since I didn't take a photo of them together just yet, I can't show you how nice they look together right now but I will do so very soon.

Will I be making more? ... I might be but then thinking again ... yes, I will be making at least one other one for sure. You see three pumpkins are not a crowd ~ they are a pumpkin gathering.

Time To Create A Pumpkin ..

Hello my dear friends,

a few days ago I was thinking about Fall and that it will be pumpkin seasons soon. I really wanted to make a few again this year. There was one little problem though, I only had one or two little pumpkin stems leftover from last year and I wasn't even sure where I had put them. I needed to find something that I could use as a stems but I wasn't sure what. I had quite a bit of driftwood that I had collected on Vancouver Island many years ago but I wasn't sure if I wanted to use it for this project. I wanted something a little different and then I remembered.

I had an old tray full of old and tarnished knives, forks and spoons that live tucked away under my    little table in my creative place. They almost never come out from there but that morning I pulled                             them out. I had forgotten how many beautiful pieces that were in this tray. 

I 'found' this little treasure in the tray ...

... a precious learning set for children ... so sweet!

Just look at the little bunny on the handles ... too adorable!

I found what I needed too, an old teaspoon with a lovely ornate handle.

 Before I even thought of taking a photo of the spoon in one piece, I snapped it in half  ...

... and this is what I am now going to use as a stem for my newest pumpkin creation.

What else was needed? ...

... drop cloth, sari silk ribbon, a piece from an old doily and then I was ready to start creating.
It didn't take long and my little pumpkin was done. A little piece of vintage sparkle was added as the final touch and then it was perfect.

I am very happy with my newest creation and that is what I am sharing with you Lovelies today ...

Just like many times before, I have taken many pictures and because I couldn't make my mind up which ones to share, I am sharing them all.

I don't often make things for myself these days but this little piece is going to be one of them. I am sure I will find it a home where it will be happy but then to be happy you also need a friend ... a pumpkin friend. Hm ... I think I will might have to make another little pumpkin now.

The Moon ..

Hello my dear friends,

it seems that I forget to share little things more often these days and I think it's due to being busy, absent minded or just plain forgetfulness at times.

 I took a photo of the full moon one night a few months ago. It was so stunning and bright but unfortunately I wasn't familiar with the setting of my new camera so it turned out a little blurry but still amazing in my eyes but I will let you be the judge of that now.

I am busy as always and I am working on several new creations and new ideas. And again too many projects or on my worktable all at once but that is nothing new. I am hoping to have something new to share with all you Lovelies very soon.

It Rained At Last ..

Hello my dear friends,

it had been weeks since we had any rain here in SW Ontario until a few days ago and the rain finally came.

The skies turn quite dark and then the clouds opened up.

A lot of rain fell and it fell hard.

Of course I couldn't resist to go outside and take a few photos ~ I didn't mind getting wet.

The rain fell so hard that it created many little bubbles ...

... in the puddles that were on the street and sidewalk.

After the clouds were empty and lighter, they moved on and the sky turned slowly blue again.

Even though it rained intensely, the falling drops were not strong enough ...

... to damage or destroy this little spiderweb that lives in our blue spruce.  

Instead the little drops turned into lovely clear ornaments ~ amazing, isn't it?!

A Special Day Out In Toronto ..

Hello my dear friends,

I am sure you all know Harry Potter.

 Both of my daughters love the books and the movies so when the chance came up for my younger daughter Caylagh to meet some of the Harry Potter cast it was a once in a lifetime chance.

 The Hogwarts Reunion was held in Toronto at the Fanexpo this past weekend.
After a few stressful hiccups we had tickets for the event on Saturday and headed there. It was the first time ever for me to drive all the way to downtown Toronto and I must say, I did OK. I only missed the entrance for the underground parking once. I also kept my cool sitting in a traffic jam, in very hot weather that took us over 40 minutes to get us 3 miles down the road and even after the event, I drove back home in the dark, on the highway for over 2 hours without any problems. We were home after 10 pm and I was good even though my day had started at 7 am. I am really happy with myself because I have a little fear about driving on the highway, especially in the dark. So ... one little fear of mine overcome and I am very happy about it.

When we got to the Toronto Convention Centre it was crazy! The building was filled with thousands and thousands of people that were attending the Fanexpo. We were told on that day alone there were over 100,000 people there. Many of them in amazing costumes and all of them there to see their favorite stars. We weren't able to take any photographs whilst there because of how busy it was but we didn't mind really. The special event was still to come for my daughter Caylagh.

She was over the moon and so excited because she had her photograph taken with Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and James and Oliver Phelps which was the real highlight of the day.

After the photo shoot we were in the front row for the 'Question and Anwser' event.
There were many laughs and lots of clapping and cheering for the four actors. 

It was just such a neat thing to be able to meet some of the actual Harry Potter cast. 

I am so glad that my daughter and I were able to do this together. Something I hope she won't forget for a long time. Well maybe only until next year?! I was told late that night that the cast might be returning to Canada again. Twice in a lifetime chance?! ... Who knows.

And It Happened Again ..

Hello my dear friends,

on a cooler day last week there was suddenly a thud at our dining room window and my daughter Caylagh called out to me, saying that a bird hat hit it and she thinks it might have died. We went outside and right away I found the little creature, laying on the rocks right under the window. It was a tiny humming bird that hat flown into the glass.

I picked it up very carefully and placed it into my daughters hands, hoping it wasn't too badly hurt. The tiny feathered critter hat knocked itself quite hard and stayed still in my daughter's palms for almost ten minutes, resting and recovering.

At first the little bird kept it's little eyes closed tightly ...

... but after it had calmed down a little it slowly opened them again.

And then suddenly it just flew up into the air. It stopped and seemed to stand still for a split moment in mid air ... right in front of our faces. It looked at us and then flew off onto our roof where it stayed for a little while, taking in the warmth of the sun rays before flying away again.

I am grateful that everything turned out to be OK with this little hummingbird and my daughter was very happy with the fact that she actually was able to help and hold this tiny creature in the palms of her hands ~ something I think, that she will remember for a long time.
