They Are Done!

Hello my dear friends,

after weeks of planning and then more weeks of working, I am so happy to share this post with all of you today. My Alice in Wonderland nests are finally all done now!

My fingers are a little sore from sewing a lot and working with wire but it was so worth it when I look at all of the loveliness of my newest nest creations. I have made eight nests all together and they will all be listed for sale in my Etsy shop some time tomorrow.

Just take a look at all of those bright colors that embellish the green woolen felted nests.

These are the larger nests ...

... which are approx. 6 inches in diameter.
Each of these nests have three wooden painted eggs and three of my little rocking horseflies living in and on them.

Next are the medium nests ...

... which are approx 5.5 inches in diameter.
These have three painted wooden eggs and two of my little rocking horseflies that happily call this little nest home.

And finally my two small nests ...

... which are approx. 5 inches in diameter.
These nests have two wooden painted eggs and two of my little rocking horsefly creatures living on and in this nest.

I am happy I chose to do a Disney themed nest and I am happy that I chose Alice in Wonderland too. All of the nests are just so neat and have turned out just the way I had wished them to. They are not overloaded with too much but also not with too little bits and pieces that shout out Alice in Wonderland in my eyes ... like I said ~ just right.

Making nests is one of the things that I love doing. Maybe not too often in a year but once or twice is just right for me. I already have several new ideas for more new nest creations. Right now I think it's four so far and I might work on one of them near the later part of this year or if not, early next year for sure. I am not too sure though which theme I will pick just yet but thankfully I still have some time to think about that. Which ever one it might be, I am already excited to work on it!

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting me here today at Todolwen. It would be nice if you come back some time again to see what I have been up too.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  4. Oh my, how lovely! I so enjoy your tiny crochet flowers, and very much appreciate the tutorials you have shared. Is there by chance a tutorial or link you can suggest for the white daisies?
    Thank you. Jill
