It's Been A Little While Now ...

Hello my dear friends,

gosh, it's been a little while since I have shared a new creation with all of you.

After all the hustle and bustle with Christmas and New Years and being unwell, I have been resting a little more than I normally do. I have enjoyed it actually but now I am getting bored and that is something that almost never happens to me.

I really can't believe how ' un/ non-creative' I have been these past few weeks if not even months but I am hoping that it will change again and that, as my dear friend Dawn from 'The Feathered Nest' calls it my 'juju' will slowly but surely return and being creative will become a daily and that even in the smallest way. I am behind with a few orders that need to be made and I feel so bad that I am taking so long to do them but that will soon be sorted too.

When I feel unmotivated at times all I need is. to see a neat piece that gets me into the mood of being creative and that is what I found a few days ago. I just can't stop myself from picking up a neat old tarnished treasure to work with and this lovely piece is what I am going to work on tonight. It is a sweet little old wire work basket.

Isn't this so neat?! I found it at an antique store and it just had to come home with me.

Oh my, it is such a lovely and detailed little basket ... take a look!

I already know what I am going to do with it. (Yes, ... it will become a pincushion.)
That's just me and my thing and I LOVE making them, another thing I can't stop myself doing.

These are what I am going to use as embellishments ... some of my vintage velvet violets.

They are some of the most beautiful treasures and unfortunately I don't have too many left of them anymore. They are going to become a part of my newest pincushion creation.

Now all I have to do is start and I am so excited to do so.
Being creative is so rewarding to me and it brings me so much joy too. If you would like to see my newest creation, then all you have to do is visit me some time tomorrow again, here at Todolwen,

And last but not least and in case anyone is interested ...

... this creation will be listed for sale in my Etsy shop, once it is completed.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  1. I find that after Christmas is a 'downer' time for me and that it's difficult to get back into the creative mode. I think we work so hard getting things ready for Christmas that our psyche needs a little break. Feeling rotten sure doesn't help the process either. Glad you're feeling better and feeling inspired to create!

  4. Hi Karen,
I think we all hit that uncreative and bored wall at this time of year. After all the sparkle and hustle of the holidays then nothing!!!! I think it is a good time to recharge. The basket is beautiful and love that you are using violets. Glad you are feeling better.
