I Thought It Was Going To Be A 'Failure' At First ...

Hello my dear friends,

unfortunately things don't always turn out the way we would like them too.
I was wanting to share this post yesterday but life came in between. (I am actually late with sharing several posts these days.) Day before yesterday, I some how trapped a nerve in my pelvis and anything to do with moving right now is painful and if that wasn't enough, my daughter Caylagh was has chicken pox! Do you believe me when I tell you that my most said quote is ... " There is always something happening!"?! But enough of that and now back to what I wanted to share with you today.

Last week I thought I would try myself at dying fabric again which I haven't done in what it seems forever. I wanted to dye a piece of my old chenille bedspread black and some seam binding to go with it to create a lovely black little soft pumpkin but it wasn't meant to be.

I followed the instructions on the bottle (I think) and it everything looked like it was  black until it was dry. The color went from what I though was black to an absolutely beautiful dark purple and because of the different types of fibres the chenille and seam binding turned in to be two different shades of purple which was a bonus in my eyes. Instead of being unhappy with everything and placing things aside, I continued with creating a pumpkin from the dark rich colored cloth.

And this is my newest Autumn fruit ... what do you think of it?

Isn't it nice when you think something has gone wrong but in the end it turns out even better than you thought it would. I for one, am very happy with my 'misshap'.

Tomorrow I will be sharing my final pumpkins for the year. So if you would like to see what they look like, why not stop by for a moment here at Todolwen?!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  3. It could not be a more beautiful shade of purple. But then purple has always been my favorite color. And the dusty green and silver are so complimentary. Just breathtaking! Prayers for your healing. Hugs,
