Shades Of Blue ~ Another New Pincushion Is Done ...

Hello my dear friends,

I am still buzzing being creative and today I am sharing my newest pincushion with all of you.

I am a little hooked on working with my dyed 'goodies' and of course those lovely old pocket watch casings too. I just can't get away from either at this moment. Another pincushion was also a must for me! I pretty much used the same concept as I did with the first pincushion just with different bits and pieces. The color of blue in this creation is called 'ocean blue' and again it is such a beautiful color.

So enough chatting about it, here it is! I called it ...

"Just Can't Stop Lovin' The Blues".

My newest pincushion has turned exactly the way I wanted it too and I am very pleased with it.

I am actually quite happy these days dyeing my own pieces of fabric, seam binding and my crochet little pretties. I don't always use many colors or much of them, so I can make what I need and have no "waste" really.

Last but not least ...

I was in Michigan for the day yesterday and bought two more colors of the amazing Dylon fabric dye. This time I went with a green and a purple and I can't wait to try them out. Olive green and intense violet are the new colors I chose. I unfortunately couldn't find French lavender color that I was looking for at either at Hobby Lobby or at Joann's. I did find it though on eBay in the UK this morning and bought it. It is going to take a few weeks to get here but I am so OK with that. I will "play" with the other new colors first and share what I have made with them with all of you.

It was so nice of you to stop by and visit me here at Todolwen today and I hope you will do so sometime again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  2. Oh my, this is just beautiful! I can't pick a favorite from all of them. I am wondering, how did you attach the crocheted piece...did you glue in onto the fabric or sew it on. I have a couple watch cases and I really want to make these! Loving your blue color and can't wait to see the new ones!

  3. This is so pretty, I could see someone putting a silver chain through the top and wearing it as a long necklace. Beautiful shade of blue.
