Being Creative Helps ..

Hello my dear friends,

the best way for me to try and take my mind off things that are bothering me and having a bad effect on me is to be creative and busy and that is exactly what I have done over this past few weeks. I just and grabbed a bunch of treasures and supplies, sat down and just started to work and I can tell you ... I have been busy! Not only did I make one new piece ... I ended up making seven new creations which I will be hopefully sharing with you over the next days.

So I am sharing my first piece with you.
It is a tarnished sewing stand with a lovely pincushion and I called it ...

... 'Vintage Pearls'.

I hope you like my newest tarnished get~together.
I must say, I am very please with the way it has turned out.

Don't forget there are a few more pieces like this that I will be sharing here on Todolwen, so do stop by again and see what I have been up too.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  4. Apparently, the man above has deep-seated fears concerning strong, reliable, intelligent, creative women. It isn't that they are American, it's that they are not subservient, meek, indulgent and fearful. That's too bad, because the strong ones make wonderful mates. I have one. When you strike his sentiment from the record, you can also delete mine. My real comment is next.

  5. I love the sewing stand...three tiers of goodness topped with a lovely pin cushion. It is so sweet. It was fun seeing your supplies/treasures, too.

  6. I have delete a comment on this post from a man thinking he needed to use my blog to voice his anger over american women and my blog is not the place to do so.

  9. Seeing this new creation reminded me of a piece that my mother had - I think it was exactly like the bottom section you have used here. Alas, when we were cleaning out her 'stuff', it was put into the yard sale and is long gone. At the time I had absolutely no interest in tarnished silver (thinking it was too much work) but what I wouldn't give now to still have it!!

  10. Karen, it makes me so proud of you to know that you are such a strong woman that you were able to put past worries about bad people stealing things from your blog and mis-using them, aside, and make beauty from ashes! I can truly say I am proud to know you and you are a credit to strong women every where. Keep your chin up, your eye on the prize, and make more beautiful things. Your creations are truly "eye candy" Love and Loyalty, Judy Lincicum
