When Unwell ~ Rest!

Hello my dear friends,

my advice to all of you ... if you are feeling unwell, please take the time to rest and get better.

Something I should have done myself. After I felt a little better with my cold/flu, I so wanted to quickly get into work mode again. Instead of taking it easy I worked very hard moving furniture from one level of the house to another (on my own) and right after that I decided to cut the front and back lawn and doing so power walking (I know, a silly thing to do) which put me right down and out for the next few days and sicker than I was before. I hope a lesson learnt for myself. Right now I am getting better and the aches and pains are getting less.

One good thing about having to sit and rest is that I have finally decided on what I am going to be making for my 'Christmas To Come' giveaway and I have already started working on it. I must say it is looking so lovely ... festive and beautiful!

So for all of you that haven't entered their name and answer to my question (which you will find by clicking either the link under my giveaway button above or on my right sidebar) there is still time!
Spread the word and tell everyone about it too! My giveaway has only one little rule and that is that it would be nice if you were a follower of Todolwen and maybe you will become the winner of my little Christmas surprise?!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  3. Sadly there are some lessons we learn the hard way. Trust me I know what pushing yourself can do and feeling the effects myself. Hope you feel better soon!

  4. I could "Ditto" your post...then I ask myself why do I have to do everything in one day? The terrible humidity we are having has not helped anything either. We are just getting older and cannot work like we use to!! My hubby even asks me why do you do all this..(he hasn't a clue) the cleaning that is needed. Moving furniture....too much exercise so early in the beginning....I've cabinets to refinish and have put it on the back burner for now. Will wait til my windows get done..I stripped them of wood and trim, my curtains/blinds are off waiting and waiting for the new replacement pieces to be installed, and it better be soon my paitience is wearing thin. I am afraid the day I start to paint, they'll call and want to come and finish them...dust and grit I'm sure. I've found a hot bath with 2 cups epsom salts help the muscles. Best Wishes

  5. I tell my (now aging) daughters, the same thing...take care of YOURSELF first...and pay attention to your body. I did not over the years ( I am now 76)...and have been paying for it for years...developed Fibromyalgia about 30 years ago..but kept pushing myself, as I did not know what the condition was at that time..and I got sicker and sicker...so yes, not feeling right or downright LOUSY...take care and REST, so your body can heal.
    God Bless you,
    Rose

  6. I do hope you are well soon. Working in your studio is a quiet activity, and such a pleasure! I over did it for years and I became ill, so slow and steady. Praying for you.

  10. Hope you are feeling much better. We don't listen very good at times to anybody, but think we know what is best for us. I don't know your age, but mine tells me every now and then that I need to relax and rest. Your flowers are so pretty. Have a wonderful day. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend.
