At First There Was Chaos ...

Hello my dear friends,

I can't believe that I have started to use my craft room/studio as a ~ how can I call it ... dumping ground!! For some reason I perfered to sit at my big dining room window and work instead in the room I was meant to use and every time I used something I would just put it away in my craft room and closed the door ... until a few days ago!

Oh my ... what a mess!!!

But ... then I decided enough is enough and look at my craft room/studio now!

All tidy and quite organized.

I still have to work on my dressform and I am hoping I will get it done soon.

My daughter Ashleigh gave me her old little desk and now I have a sewing station and it is permanent!! My daughter had bought it at a second hand shop and refinished it and it turned out lovely!

My old dresser is filled to the top with all sorts of treasures inside and ...

...on top as well.

The geese family is my most favourite design I made and the plant on the right used to be my Mama's and now I am looking after it for her. Every time I look at it and water it I think of her!

I am so glad that I managed to clean up my craft room! It is another thing off of my 'to-do list' and a little less weighing on my mind. Sometimes the most wonderful things can start off as a big mess and once you give it a little tender love and care it can turn out to be something beautiful.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful, creative and chaos free day!

  2. Helle Karen,
    It looks great and tidy.
But the thing I love the most,is that lovely black cat.
He's enjoying the sunshine, as only cats can do.
    Have a nice day,

  4. HI Karen .. Today you are my inspiration (in more ways than one). I will be organizing 'My Room' today. It is in dire need of getting in order. BTW, I LUV those geese. We are visited daily with flocks of entertaining Canada Geese... So I am partial to them. Thanks again for sharing.

    Peace,

    Barb

  5. Oh my, your "before" looks like my current sewing room...I to just keep dumping stuff in there. My "craft" area is in part of another room, and it's a bit better!!! I've got to get things in order since I have a number of sewing projects I've been asked to do by my daughter in law and my granddaughter...although it still won't look as neat as your room does. Love those geese too, and cats certainly know where to get comfortable.

  6. I thought this was a picture of my craft room! I too sit at the dining room table or in front of the tv to do my crafting. Now you've inspired me to do something about the mess, and start using this special space again!

  7. Great job! I did some organisation last autumn, it was a lot of work and after all I felt very tired and upset, but it was worth it. It is always worth it and your crafting room now looks very tiny and comfortable. I love the little table your daughter gave to you. She did a good job, too. Congrats for you both :)!
