Less Is More At Times ...

Hello my dear friends,

today I would like to share a small creation I did one late evening when I couldn't sleep. It is an old idea redone again ~ a baby shoe pincushion. It is nice to fall back on old ideas which don't cause you a headache when trying to figure out how to make something and instead you can just sit, create and relax. At times I have a really bad habit of trying too hard to make something look a certain way and I over do it but this time ... less is more!

I painted the shoe with the new Martha Stewart paints, aged it and that was it really apart from a tiny ribbon flower and a little silver charm; that's all I thought this little creation needed since the shoe itself had a lot of detail and charm already. I used some of my rose velvet for the pincushion because the color was ever so delicate and perfect ~ nothing too much!  What do you think?

I hope you have enjoyed my little creation today.

And don't forget about my giveaway! You only have until midnight on February 12th to sign up as I will be drawing the winner on the 13th! Good luck to everyone!

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

  2. Oh you are so right Karen - in this case less is more!
With such a beautiful tiny shoe, you have perfected it - just enough embellishment - sometimes we do need restraint!

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful eek!

  4. The shoe is just perfect as the base of this pin cushion. I love the patina/wear and the great little buckle. That velvet is such a nice color.
