Another Old Tarnished Lid ...

 Hello my dear friends,

so it's been a while again hasn't it.

(I actually think this will become my opening sentence for many future blog posts hahaha.)

As you know, I am trying to be more creative these days and so far it's going well. I have shared the piece that I am sharing here today already on my Instagram page, so you might have already seen it possibly. It is one of my newest pincushions that I have recently made. It is made from an old tarnished dish with a very pretty lid. I love working with old tarnished lids with or without their plates because then make some of the best bases for pincushions because the handle is perfect in make it stand nicely and this lid is particular lovely.

And here it is, take a look ...

I think it turned out very nice and I enjoyed making it so much but then again I almost always do and I can't wait to make the next one. There is this large tarnished lid in my stash and I might just decided to use it next, I will see how I feel and when I have time to work on things. There are a few piece that are still sitting and waiting to be finished on my worktable but that is nothing new.

And now a little update on how things are here ...

Our basement issue ... even more water was found in the office under the flooring in our basement. This floor needs to now be ripped out as well. Oh and have you noticed how long things take to get sorted?! The insurance takes it's time, the companies I have hired to try and find out what is going wrong take time to come out especially during COVID restrictions. (I also don't feel too comfortable with too many people in our house right now.) Days turn into weeks and even months now but slowly but I am chasing after people and slowly but surely I am getting everything sorted. The stress is a thing though that I could really do without but it is what it is. Fingers crossed it will get done soon.

Our willow tree ... this also turns out to be a thing that takes months and months to sort out instead of weeks. She is still standing strong so far. She just went through a storm with high winds and is still OK but that can change.

And that is right now how things are going here, so here is to better times. A fixed basement without any water, a new willow tree growing and the world recovered from COVID. My thoughts are with all you, hoping you are safe and healthy. Until next time ...

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Stay safe and stay healthy.

  1. As always so fun to see your latest creative work. Love this piece so unique. These days workers are few and some supplies are in short demand. We have been waiting for our new freezer since last Fall. I just try to keep perspective that we are still in good shape here and there are a lot of people in the world who are really suffering. That is not to say it is not frustrating for you and very inconvenient. Have a creative day! Glad to hear your willow didn't fall in your last storm!
