Whispering Leaves ~ Patchwork Beauty ...

Hello my dear friends,

I think I have mentioned before that I used to hand quilt a lot years ago, something I that I should really start doing again.

A little while ago I was decluttering my linen closet and I found a wall hanging that I had made years ago. Back then when I had my country and primitive phase, it was perfect for our house, but these days it just doesn't suit our decor anymore. I decided to gift it to someone that would once again use and display it which I did a few days ago. My wall hanging went to a lovely lady named Kassy. She lives in a small town called Arva here in Ontario, just outside of the city of London in midst of farmers fields as far as the eye can see.

She has converted the top of her barn into a shop/classroom which is called "The Wagon Shed". This is where she teaches weaving and quilting and she also sells all sorts of neat things. It is such a lovely place to be and this is where my quilt now lives.

The Wagon Shed

Unfortunately I never took pictures of my wall hanging when I made it. I also forgot almost take one with my camera before I gave it away but fortunately I did take a few on my phone.

And this is my wall hanging ...

The pattern is called "Whispering Leaves".

I had found it in a quilting magazine years and years ago and just loved it so much that I had to make it. I hand pieced and hand quilted it, like all my other quilts. It is such a easy way to create a lovely quilt. I had shared this on my Instagram page a week or so ago and I was asked about the pattern for it and where I got it from. I had no idea if I still had it but went on the search for it.

Back in the days this was your storage for anything when there was no computer in the house. A simple binder to hold all of the quilt patterns that I wanted to one day make and that is where I actually found the pattern again!

And this is it!

I am sharing the 'how~to' of this neat pattern today because it would be a such a shame for this beautiful design not to be made anymore. It was published in August 1997 (22 years ago) by "American Patchwork and Quilting" and the design itself is by Susan Miller of  Pella, Iowa.

Like I said, it is an easy design and perfect for beginners. If you like quilting or want to start it, you should so try this out. I loved making my wall hanging all those year ago and you never know, I might just make a new one, one day.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by here at Todolwen and visit me. It is always so nice when you do. I am hoping to share a few new creation in the near future so do come back from time to time and see what I have been up too.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
