A New Tutorial In The Making ...

Hello my dear friends,

posts of mine these days are far and few and that is why I am so pleased to share this one with all of you today. It seems to me that it has been forever since I have been able to sit down and come up with something new to create but that is unfortunately how it is. I am hoping with brighter days, blue skies and sunshine my creativeness will return a little more and that soon.

I have wanted to make a new tutorial since some time now but it just never happened. My mind was a blank for the longest time and it was and still is so frustrating. One morning last week it was different though. I sat down at our dining table at the big window that overlooks our garden and just started to doddle. To my surprise slowly but surely a simple shape that I liked started to appear on the piece paper in front of me. After changing it a little here and a little there, I was happy with my design. All I had to do was enlarge it to the size I wanted it to be and it was done! A complete new idea ~ joy! Since I was "on a roll", I really wanted to take advantage of it, so my next step was to head to my creative space and find everything I would need to actually make my newest idea come "to life".

A few hours later and there it was ... my newest creation finished!

This almost never happens to me when I am making a new pattern but this time it did! It worked out first time and I couldn't be happier with it! I kept it simple but sweet. Not too much detail but that it how I wanted it to be. Made from my favorite grey drop cloth with long ears, a little white puffy tail and a colorful bow, both made from crinkled seam binding and a little embroidery ... I liked it a lot! No more, no less and  I am so happy with it.

And this is it, my newest making ... a little Spring bunny.

I named him "Sage".

Isn't he a neat little white tailed hopper with his nice green bow?!
He is able to stand freely due to being weighted down where his feet are.

He has lovely long ears.

An embroidered hint of little toes.

And the inner of his ears are also embroidered.
I tried a few things but this is the look I liked the most ...
the herringbone stitch.

His little white tail is just the neatest in my eyes.

My new bunny appeals to me so much because of how simple he is.
Well, for now that is. I have just had an idea on how he could maybe be embellished a little more but it is only an idea at the moment.

Right now I am working on the tutorial which I will be listing in my Etsy shop as soon as it is done. Hopefully that will be in a few days. I haven't written one in forever and it taking me a little longer getting the settings, measurements and instructions right and of course the look of it too. So if you are interested in making one yourself, stayed tuned. I will let you know when it is available here on Todolwen.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me here today and I hope you have enjoyed your short stay and might come back some time again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  1. awwwwww....just awwwww. I absolutely love his little ears - the stitching just 'makes' them. (btw - have you seen the work done by Mr. Finch? If you haven't, be sure to google his work!).
