My Little Rant About Me, Myself And I ..

Hello my dear friends,

today's little rant is about no one else but me.

I don't know if I have ever talk about this? ... I know everyone has their little quirks and faults and I am one of those people too. One of these little faults/quirks is something that I can only say that I ... ... hate, hate, hate it!

Every once in a while I 'misplace' something and normally that something is something I want to work with or need and it drives my crazy. I tent to put things away so they are 'safe' and then they are never to be found again, just like some crocheting thread that is just no where to be seen since months.

Only a month ago I needed a pattern that I had designed and I couldn't find the template for it no matter how hard I looked for it. I went through every box and drawer in my studio, or so I thought, thoroughly but I just couldn't find it. In the end I had to make a new one all over again which took even more time but in the end I got there.

Yesterday I wanted to start working on a creation that I had totally forgotten about since almost a year now and one of the main parts, some very pretty egg shaped pearls that I needed for it are ... gone!

These are some of them in a little wire nest I made a few years ago.

I again went through my entire studio twice but nothing. Oh wrong ... the template I just told you about not even 5 lines ago ... yup, you guessed it, I found it last night. Crazy or what?!

I have ever very rarely lost anything, even as a child and I think that is why it bothers me so much when I do. Unfortunately there is also the chance that I either 'got rid' of it i.e. donated it with other things without even noticing or in one of my 'clean the house' sessions I accidentally threw it in the trash.

Right now it looks like the creations I wanted to work on is again being put back into the waiting line 'to be worked' on for the time being. You never know, maybe I will find what I am looking for some time in the future when I am looking for something else or on one of my decluttering days. I will let you know if I do!

Thank you for taking the time to read my little rant about me, myself and I.

Before I go, I would like to share a few new photographs of  'Olde Man Winter' ...

... who is still here and has no intention of  leaving just yet.

Believe it or not but it is much colder when the sky is bright blue and the sun is shining but it looks so lovely. This week we are meant to get warmer temperatures for a few days before we return having more snow.

But as always I make sure the little critters that visit our backyard have some little treats to get them through the Winter.

Do stop by some time here at Todolwen and visit me again ~ it is always so nice when you do.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  2. Karen you are not alone, I'm exactly the same with my art things. I need a studio where I can leave everything out ready for the next time I want to paint. The lost things are not lost just misplaced. So don't beat yourself.I'm sure you'll find your beads when you are looking for something else

  5. Know what you mean - I can't find my little yellow bunny from an Easter basket when I was a child that I want to do a project with. I have also done this with presents bought ahead, Hope you find your little eggs soon. Have a creative day anyway. Pam

  7. I feel your pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am extremely organized (to a fault, perhaps!) and I know where everything is at any given moment. UNTIL that moment when I can't put my fingers on something. How frustrating. Eventually, the missing piece always appears ... but until then? Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

    Enjoy the warmer temperatures!

  9. The more organized I get, the harder it is to find something. Even on my desk, something I just had in my hands a day ago.. where the heck is it!!!!????

Oh my goodness, I thought I was the only person with a black hole in my home where everything goes to get lost! lol When there is just organized chaos, I can find anything. lol Put it away where it belongs and I never see it again. lol Okay, I do eventually see it, just not when I'm looking for it! lol Love ya' Patricia B
