finally ... finally I got time to sit down yesterday morning, relax and create and it was about time as well. I decided to make something useful and not just decorative this time and looking around all my little treasures I came upon a tray with my collection of old scissors and that is when I knew what I wanted to make. Where there are scissors ... there shall be scissor pouches!
After gathering together all sort of bits and pieces and once I had thought of a look it didn't take long before I had not only made one but four of these in 3 different sizes.
And these my latest makings ...
And these my latest makings ...
I actually got to use some of those beautiful vintage violets I bought last week!
These are a pair of Victorian scissors that my two lovely daughters gifted me with a few years ago.
I am very happy with the way these have turned out and at the moment I am working on a case that is made from velvet and I am planning on using more of the vintage violets to embellish it, but that is for another post.
I would love to see you here at Todolwen some time soon again so please don't hesitate to pop by again!!
I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.
Have a peaceful and creative day,
Each and every one of the scissor pouches is beautiful! Lovely use of the violets as well.ReplyDelete

Wow Karen, these are so beautiful! I love the use of lace and flowers, and the charms are the perfect touch.ReplyDelete
Karen, your newest creations are just absolutely beautiful, soft, feminine, and useful! I just love your design and the fact that you used vintage materials with new to make it a very artful piece. Such beauty in something so very useful. Much easier to find a piece like this, than just the scissors. Thank you for sharing with us; you are so very gracious! JudyReplyDelete
They are lovely. I love them.ReplyDelete
Karen, I found you just today via a circuitous Pinterest route. Your blog is wonderful and I'm thrilled to have found you! Your scissor cases are fabulous and have inspired me to create a few for deserving friends here in Texas and across the country. Thank you for sharing your genius with us. Hugs from Texas.ReplyDelete
Karen, I too have a collection of old scissors which I would like to make pouches for, ranging from small to large. I can design the outside of the pouch my self, but would you be able to share the pattern for the pouches with me? I would be very happy to pay you for the pattern. I just the loved the shape and sizes of yours, better than any I have ever seen. I hope you are feeling much better by now, and that your family is, as well. Summer illnesses are always the worst! Looking forward to your next post, JudyReplyDelete
