Another Day, Another Pumpkin ...

 Hello my dear friends,

so again I spent a part of my day yesterday sitting at the dining room table whilst work was going on in our basement but I am not complaining!

My pumpkin was a success and sold right away! I thought I would make another one to keep myself busy and that is exactly what I have done. Again made from vintage velvet, this time in a subtle and soft brownish color. I chose a somewhat fancier old tarnished spoon for the stem and the same green seam binding as my first one for the bow.

I am very happy the way it turned out again and here it is ...

It is availabe in my Etsy shop this evening and where I have also relisted a few of last years pumpkins.

I am thinking if I am going to make another pumpkin or two possibly but I am not sure just yet. Looking at the velvet of today's pumpkin, I am wondering if I can change it's color like I did with the vintage green velvet I had recently found. So stay tuned on that one.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me here today, at Todolwen and I hope you will come back some time again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Sitting At The Dining Room Table ...

 Hello my dear friends,

we are finally having our basement renovated after waiting for over a year after it flooded due to a failed repair in the house foundation when our house was built. That means that I sit at the dining room table normally for a good part of the day with my laptop to keep me entertained but not this morning, nor yesterday.

Yesterday I worked on a custom order of one of my 2022 pumpkins with the beaded fabric. I had to dye some seam binding to get the right shade of green I needed and I ended up dying meters and meters of it in all sorts of shades of green.

But I actually did get a shade of green that was perfect ...

... and my customer was very happy with it.

Now I had all this green seam binding, so I obviously had to do something with it so another pumpkin was due.

I love making my double layered seam binding frill so I decided that it would become a part of my newest pumpkin.

Lovely vintage velvet in a shade of grey that was perfect to become an Autumn fruit and that was my project for the morning. I finished it a little later making sure I added a nice bow made from my green seam binding and that is what I am sharing with you today.

And here it is ...

It is a 'simple' pumpkin, very pretty and possibly a little elegant and dare I say even a little 'posh' and I love the way it turned out! It is now listed for sale in my Etsy shop, why not pop over and take a look.

With renovations continuing for the next little while I am hoping to get a few more new pieces done.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have enjoyed your short stay.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

More Autumn Fruit ...

 Hello my dear friends,

I have been busy and a few more of my newest pumpkins are now done.

They all turned out so nice with that neat and somewhat quirky soft brown tulle fabric. I made four as of right now and I am not sure if I will be making any more just yet. You have already seen the first one I made and today I am sharing the other three with you.

 Here they are ...

With pumpkins done for the moment, I have turn my attention to something a little different now. Last Winter I made a few snowmen bodies but not finished them, so that is what I am going to start working on now.

Want a little sneak peek? ... Here it is ...

Eventhough it is still summer time and it's hot outside and I really am enjoying it, I am already looking forward to the first snow fall of the year, so working on my snowmen is perfect for me right now.

My four pumpkins are going to be listed in my Etsy shop this evening in case any of you might be interested in one of them.

They are now listed!

It was so nice of you to stop by and visit me here at Todolwen and I hope you have enjoyed your short stay.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

I Just Couldn't Resist, My Newest Autumn Fruit ...

 Hello my dear friends,

I love old tarnished silver ware (I have a lot of it) and I love ot work with it.

I really wanted wanted to work with it again but had no idea of what to do with it. I have used it as pumpkin stems in the past but wasn't really thinking of making any pumpkins this year ...

... but then I found this really neat tulle fabric recently that changed my mind about that.

It is a softer tulle, in a lovely shade of brown that is glittered but that isn't all. It also has small shiny metal balls/beads attached to it! That made it a little elegant but also a tiny bit quirky and fun too and I just knew I had to make a pumpkin with it afterall. It took me a little bit to the look I was going for. I tried all sorts of bits and pieces for the embellishment and in the end I went with a simple bow made from hand dyed seam binding in a dark green. My newest pumpkin was done, I was very happy with the way it turned out and that is what I am sharing with you today.

And this is my newest pumpkin and I hope you like it.

Isn't it just so neat? I just love the little metal balls/beads.

And since I have a lot more pretty old tarnished teaspoons in my drawer, a few more pumpkins will be growing and of course I will share with you again. Just in case anyone is interested, they will be availale in my Etsy shop by the end of the week.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me here at Todolwen and I hope you had a nice time.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Roses Are Red And Tomatoes Are Too ...

 Hello my dear friend,

roses are red and tomatoes are too and I think you might know where this is going.

I so wanted to make a red heirloom tomato pincushion. I would have prefered using vintage velvet but I couldn't find any that I liked fast enough and like I said, I am inpatient so I bought the most exspensive velvet I could find locally to stop my inner child from whining.

It is the most beautiful red color and perfect in each and every way. Paired together with the dark green seam binding, the two made the perfect tomato.

Take a look ...

Now isn't that a pretty tomato and little berry too?! I am so happy with the way they look.
My velvet tomato pincushions will be listed in my Etsy shop tomorrow in case any of you are interested and I am already working on my next one. Same design but completley different look.

It was so nice of you to stop by here at Todolwen and I hope you have enjoyed my newest creation.

I hope you are well my dear friend and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

An Old Trusted Helper ...

 Hello my dear friends,

when I was a teenager and loved to sew my own clothes I bought myself my first pincushion.

You know, the old trusted helper in the shape of a tomato and it's little sidekick strawberry.

I still have and use it today and it has now inspired me to make my own design of it, just tweeked a little to make it my style. My favorite tomatoes are the heirlooms tomatoes, I just love the way they look so that is what I wanted to create, a heirloom tomato pincushion. It took me a few tryouts at first but once I had a shape that I was happy with and my first tomato 'grew' quickly.

I used some of the beautiful green velvet from the curtain valance I had found for the tomato and the little sidekick strawberry was made from some new red velvet. I filled both with crushed walnut shells to keep any needles and pins sharp and some hand dyed seam binding became the greenery. Hapy me of course I couldn't just make one tomato now, could I, so I 'grew' another one, this time from the that beautiful golden colored velvet.

And here is my newest 'harvest', my newest pincushions, my heirloom tomatoes.

Glorious in green ...

... and bold in gold!

I haven't made the little sidekick strawberry for this one just yet, something to do this evening and who knows, maybe another tomato might 'grow' too.

I hope you like my newest work. I will be listing these pincushions in my Etsy shop in a few days as a 'made to order' item if you are interested in one of my heirloom fruits.

It is so nice that you have stopped by here today and I hope you have enjoyed your visit.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is being kind to you.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
