What A Great Night! ...

Hello my dear friends,

this is one of those posts that I should have shared a little while ago.

My older daughter Ashleigh was such a sweetheart!

She recently surprised me and gifted me a night out with her to go and see no one else but ... the one and only Elton John in concert!! I used to listen to him all of the time when I was younger and love his music! He is one of those great artists and it is a neat thing to be able to see him live.

Unfortunately cameras were not allowed and your bags were checked at the doors but my daughter managed to take a few photographs on her phone. We both were so buzzed to see this great musician so it didn't really matter that we couldn't get many photos because the experience is was what counts.

It was such an amazing night!

Great music and lots of singing. My hands were aching from clapping so much and my throat was a little rough too at the end of the night from shouting and singing out load but it was so much fun. I had such an awesome time and loved every moment of that evening with my daughter.
One little thing though ... I need to work on my whistling with my fingers again, I have become a little rusty.

I am so grateful for this lovely gift,  a memory that I won't forget.
Memories are a treasure that nothing can replace and I wish you all happy memories in your life.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Hello my dear friends,

Pumpkin 'J' ...

... and the last one ...

I Thought It Was Going To Be A 'Failure' At First ...

Hello my dear friends,

unfortunately things don't always turn out the way we would like them too.
I was wanting to share this post yesterday but life came in between. (I am actually late with sharing several posts these days.) Day before yesterday, I some how trapped a nerve in my pelvis and anything to do with moving right now is painful and if that wasn't enough, my daughter Caylagh was has chicken pox! Do you believe me when I tell you that my most said quote is ... " There is always something happening!"?! But enough of that and now back to what I wanted to share with you today.

Last week I thought I would try myself at dying fabric again which I haven't done in what it seems forever. I wanted to dye a piece of my old chenille bedspread black and some seam binding to go with it to create a lovely black little soft pumpkin but it wasn't meant to be.

I followed the instructions on the bottle (I think) and it everything looked like it was  black until it was dry. The color went from what I though was black to an absolutely beautiful dark purple and because of the different types of fibres the chenille and seam binding turned in to be two different shades of purple which was a bonus in my eyes. Instead of being unhappy with everything and placing things aside, I continued with creating a pumpkin from the dark rich colored cloth.

And this is my newest Autumn fruit ... what do you think of it?

Isn't it nice when you think something has gone wrong but in the end it turns out even better than you thought it would. I for one, am very happy with my 'misshap'.

Tomorrow I will be sharing my final pumpkins for the year. So if you would like to see what they look like, why not stop by for a moment here at Todolwen?!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

That Little Black One ...

Hello my dear friends,

I am sure you all know that little black dress that every girl should have in her closet?! ... Well, that can also be applied to pumpkins. I was asked to make a little black pumpkin and I did and since one can't be on it's own and alone, I made three of them and that is what I am sharing with you today.

Here are my little black Autumn fruit ...

Pumpkin  'M' ...

... a little black velvet pumpkin.

(This one is already spoken for.)

Pumpkin 'N' ...

This pumpkin is made from a lovely black fabric that has strands of midnight blue threads woven in it and a tiny bit of sparkle too.

and Pumpkin 'O' ...

... another velvet pumpkin.

Do you see the bow made from dark purple seam binding?
That colored seam binding came to be when I was trying to dye some things black. Yes, I did say black and it didn't work out but I will share more about that in my next post.

My pumpkin harvest is now slowly but surely coming to an end. I have one more batch of Autumn fruit to share with you after tomorrow's post and then that will be most probably will be the last for this year because the next amazing time of the year is on it's way and I need to get busy with that. (Jungle bells, jingle bells ... it's the most wonderful time of the year ... let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!)

Thank you for stopping by and visit me here at Todolwen.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Even More White Autumn Fruit ...

Hello my dear friends,

even though this past weekend was Thanks Givings weekend and I was very busy, it didn't stop me from having a little creative time. I had two ladies ask me about my chenille pumpkins and I couldn't resist working on them right away and that is what I am sharing with you today.

I made tThree more little white and soft Autumn fruit, one just as lovely as the other in my eyes.

Pumpkin no 1 ...

(This little white one is spoken for.)

Pumpkin no. 2 ...

Pumpkin no. 3 ...

And of course I didn't stop there ... I made a few more pumpkin pincushions in black! So do pop by tomorrow to see how they look!

And just to let you know ...
I haven't had the time to list my pumpkins in my Etsy shop just yet but I am working hard on getting it done and hopefully I will have them listed within the next few days if any of you Lovelies are interested in any of them.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Just A Few More White Ones ...

Hello my dear friends,

as always I just can't stop myself from making some things and this time it's no different.

After I made my first pumpkin from an old vintage chenille bedspread and I was so delighted with the way it turned out, I just had to make a few more of them. Same size and all and again not as a pincushion but as a decoration piece.

And here they are ... so soft, white and lovely!

This is the first one ...

And this the the second one ...

Both of these little white Autumn fruit are already spoken for but I still do have some of my old bedspread left if any of you might be interested in one of my little white pumpkins. Just drop me a line and let me know,

Thank you for stopping by today and spending a little time here at Todolwen.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
