Enough Waited ..

Hello my dear friends,

 I just got too impatient to wait any longer and after several attempts, yes ... this too didn't work the first time, I have opted to use 'html' to upload my photos for now. It takes much longer to do so but at least I can blog properly again!!

 

I had taken some photos of my backyard to share with you again last week after it had snowed in the night and of course the squirrels were there again too and I was so smitten. For a short while there were about 6 or 7 in my maple tree at once.

  

 

 

This winter my Peter Pan stayed outside to experience the wonder of snow.

 

 

 

 

These little critters are so beautiful!

 

 

This black squirrel sat just outside my kitchen window and ate some snow to quench it's thirst away and sat just long enough so I could capture it to share with you. Nature is something so precious we should all treasure!

It would be nice if you come back soon and see what I've been up to.

Wait A Little Longer..

Hello my dear friends,

thank you for all the advice trying to help me with the 'little problem' with blogger not being able to upload photos for my blog. I have decided to wait a little longer to see if blogger can fix what ever is wrong and not start to use something different and new to do so ( sometimes I'd rather not try something new out that I am not sure about.What would I call myself ...chicken?!')

 

Instead I will work hopefully on a new creation or two in the meantime and ... yes, get more stressed out over our basement renovation. So ... it is now week 11 and we are still not done. (AHHHHHH!!)

The ceilings need refinishing and that is what is going to happen this morning and you have no idea how I am feeling right now ... totally fed~up with it all!! As of right now I have no date when my contractor will be done finally. Don't get me wrong ... they are very nice people but I wish less mistakes were made along the way and I am sure I have told you all this before.

I will keep up to date on every of course, so don't forget to stop by from time to time and visit me again.

A Problem With Blogger?!

Hello my dear friends,

I was wondering if anybody else is having or has had a problem with uploading pictures to their blog?!

Since two days now I have been trying to get a post ready to share and when it comes to uploading my pictures, I click on the picture icon and after the new window opens a part of it is missing ~ it is the part where you click on to browse your pictures.

 

I sure hope that this isn't something I have done wrong, but then my daughter Ashleigh has the same problem too. Hopefully this 'little problem' will be sorted very soon.

Almost Ready For Mailing ...

Hello my dear friends,

I must say that I was truly hoping to be able to do so much more this past Christmas time, but with our renovation in the basement taking a lot longer than we had hoped unfortunately I didn't get a chance to do half of what I would have liked too.

Creative time wasn't available to me very much these past weeks really even though the making of a few little pretties here and there was such a wonderful thing, it just would have been nice to have been working on a few more. I had many plans that will now have to wait until next Christmas.

I did manage to finally complete my Christmas cards for Jillayne's Christmas card swap unfortunately it took me longer than I thought it would and now the only thing left to do is write a little personal message in each card.
 

I wanted my cards to reflect how I saw Christmas as a child, you know ... the magic of Santa and everything that goes with it and I hope that I have captured it.

 

Since I am a snow person and 13 is my favourite number, there are 13 snowflakes on each of my cards. Well, actually 12 of them are on the card and the 13th snowflake is an ornament that is inside the card and can be taken out and hung on a Christmas tree.

 

And since it is all about the sparkle and the glistening I have added glitter to the cards and last but not least Swarowski Crystals to the snowflakes.

 

 I hope that my cards will give a little joy to the lovely people that are going to receive them.

I made seven cards for Jillayne's Christmas card swap ~ seven cards for seven lovely participants.

 

  

All for me to do now is to send them on their way.

This swap is something very neat that I have enjoyed very much working on and I hope you have enjoyed my work too.

A Night At The Theater ...

Hello my dear friends,

I mentioned in a previous post that one of my gifts was a night at the theater with my daughter Ashleigh. We went to the Grand Theater here in London and saw 'Miracle on 34th Street' ~ the musical ~ and it was lovely!

 

Unfortunately flash photography was not allowed but I did sneak a few photos after the play to share with you.

 

This is a part of the ceiling in front of the stage ~ it is painted so beautifully!

The stage scenery just before the curtain came down.

 

It was such a lovely evening ~ so nice in the matter of fact that we are planning to do this at least once a year with all of us at Christmas time.

 

 

On the opposite side of the street from the theater there is a park named 'Victoria Park' where every Christmas all the beautiful tall and small fir trees get all decked out with shimmering lights.

 

 

It was cold but so very lovely to walk through the park and enjoy the beauty of everything. This also is something we are planning to do every Christmas.

 

And last but not least ...

 

... now Christmas is over again and a new year is here and I have several things on my to~do list already, mainly to do with our house and I can't wait to get started. I also hope that I will have some new ideas for creations too, maybe a new tutorial or two for this year as well.

Snow, Snow, Snow!

Hello my dear friends,

finally ... a week ago it snowed here again in south~western Ontario and it is looking lovely!!
(I am a bit behind with sharing this post.)

 

 

 I think that snow can make almost everything beautiful and when you add lights it becomes magical in my eyes. I am sorry for the bad pictures ~ my camera didn't want to work properly in the cold and snow but you can still get the idea of how beautiful it looked outside that night.
~ I love snow!~

 

  

 Unfortuately I had a little bad luck with it as well though. I have two lovely large reindeer that light up and even move parts of their bodies. Both of these were standing outside my dining room window when it began to become stormy and both of them ended up damaged to the point that I had to take them down before the snow came and replace them with a string of snowflake lights but I still love the way the snow makes our garden light up at night!

A little update on our basement ...

  ... it still isn't finished yet! We are planning on laying our own floors which I hope will go well but we still have a few issues that need addressing. Hopefully we can sort them out very fast with our contractor. This project was meant to be approx. 4 to 6 weeks no longer but now we are in week 9 or maybe it is already week 10 .. and I am slowly but surely wanting this to finally come to an end. I will keep you up to date on this in future posts.

Happy New Year ..

Hello my dear friends,

I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.

 

May 2013 bring you health, happiness and everything you wish for.

My New Years day is bittersweet.

 It is the beginning of a new year that will hopefully be better than the last one because one year ago today my Mum lost her battle after being very ill ~ it still feels like it happened yesterday.

 

 

You are so very missed ~ I love you Dickie!
