Another Cigar Box Making ...

Hello my dear friends,

firstly I would like to wish you all a belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year too!

I am still recovering from some surgery I had before Christmas and unfortunately didn't get around to posting a lot here on Todolwen. Today's post is another wooden cigar box that I made a year ago and as so often these days, just didn't get around to sharing it.

I had found this lovely little nativity set and so wanted to do something with it and it seemed that it was made to fit inside said cigar box. A piece of driftwood I had found on the beach and a piece of bark from our willow tree, Salisbury, were also perfect for what I had in mind and with a few other bits and pieces that I had on hand, soon my little nativity scene was finished. Just like my first cigar box making, it lights up and I just am so happy with the way it turned out!

I know it isn't Christmas anymore but I just had to share it with all of you since it is now sold and will be mailed in a few days - I hope you enjoy it.

Unfortunately I am not that good at capturing good images of it in the dark but I hope you can see how neat this piece looks once the lights are on. In my mind things don't always have to be big and glamorous, simpler and smaller are at times perfect in every way.

Right now I am playing with some ideas and also working on a few new pieces too and hopefully I will be able to share something new soon. So whenever you have a few spare moments, why not stop by and see what I have been up to?!

Thank you for stopping by today and visiting me here at Todolwen. It is always so nice when you do.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

  2. Understated elegance! I love how it lights up and the significance of the stars to the story of the nativity.
