A Tarnished Christmas Treasure ..

Hello my dear friends,

I was going to share this little treasure with you a year ago and then it totally slipped my mind until today. I had found this tarnished piece at a church sale one weekend and just fell in love with it. As far as I can tell it is a little candle stand/holder for a little tea light and I am thinking of what I could maybe turn it into.

Take a look ... it is a hexagon and each side is a different little Winter/Christmas scene and one is as lovely as the other.

Some of the scenes remind me of an old Disney cartoon. It is called 'Once upon a Winter time". A  young couple goes out on a sleigh ride and head to a lake where they go skating and then something bad almost happens but in the end it is a happy end and they ride off home all happy and in love. A lovely classic cartoon.

At times I have quite a few new ideas or a few new treasure and some of them get just lost until they are re-found, created or shared with  you here on Todolwen  and I am sure this will not be the last one of them.

And last but not least ...

... if you love fabric and especially if it is Christmassy, then there is time to enter your name to my latest giveaway.

Click on the link and just leave a comment for the chance to win this ...

... a very neat piece of fabric that has 24 tags in total and all very festive to say the least.

The winners ~ there will be two ~ will be drawn tomorrow Sunday, the 4th Advent around noon time.

Oh ... I haven't mentioned this yet but ...

... the countdown has started ... it's only 5 days til Christmas day!!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting me here at Todolwen and don't forget to come back tomorrow, to see if you have won my giveaway!

So Sweet ..

Hello my dear friends,

I must have some of the sweetest neighbors you can have.
A few days ago the doorbell rang and there was my lovely neighbor Katherine with a smile on her face and a large poinsettia in her arms. She just said, that the flower was for me and then thanked me for everything I do for them. She handed me the red beauty and then left again.
That was so sweet!

Since we have cats and poinsettias are very poisonous to cats, the poinsettia now lives in my creative place on my worktable right at the window and it makes the room looks so festive and Christmassy.

Isn't is just so lovely?!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

My 'Christmas To Come' Giveaway 2014 ~ The Gift ..

Hello my dear friends,

finally I can share with you today what the gifts were from my 'Christmas To Come' giveaway this year. I can do so because the lovely Pat who it has now received her mail and opened it.

I had made a small stocking from a gray wool fabric ..

... and embellished it with some of my little silver flowers and snowflakes.

Of course the stocking couldn't be without a little white seam binding and some lovely white glistening and fluffy wool.

Inside the stocking were little gifts all wrapped up in white tissue paper with red thread bows, in a little white organza bag and a little white paper envelope.

There were little snowflakes punched out from velum and pretty papers.

Tiny little golden jingle bells ...

... as my favorite penny shows the true size of the bells.

       Some lovely old white lace.

Of course there had to a little bunch of my crochet flowers too.

And all wrapped up in Christmassy red tissue paper ...

                                                         ... a beautiful red silk scarf ...

... all covered in snowflakes ~ a true Christmas scarf.

And I am happy because Pat loved her giveaway gift and that is what it was all about.

Don't forget me little giveaway that I am having right now. Just click on the button on my right sidebar and it will take you to the post that will tell you all about it.

Lat but not least, I am sorry that this post is a little messed up, it seems that there is a problem with bloggers posting page. A few of their gadgets don't want to work right since yesterday.

Do stop by and visit me soon again here at Todolwen and take a look what I have  been up to.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Everyone Loves Christmas ..

Hello my dear friends,

I think I have made a matchbox creation every Christmas since the past 3 years now and this year is no different. I had a few matchboxes leftover from last year, already covered in old book pages and waiting to be completed and I knew exactly how I was going to do it.

I had two special pieces that were perfect for this creation.

Remember my little frozen men ...

... and my teeny, tiny tree?

They would both live together in their own little ...

... Winter Wonderland.

And that is what I would like to share with you today, my newest Christmas match box creation.
It is about the love for Christmas and snow and Christmas trees and snowmen.

I named it ...

... 'Everyone Loves Christmas'.

I crochet the he little snowflakes on the top of the box and then dipped them into a melted sugar and water mixture to make them really hard. Of course snowflakes glisten and that's why they were given a good sprinkle of glitter and that is also why they each have now a tiny Swarovski crystal living on them.

When you slip the box lid up ...

... you will see the inside of this creation.

It had snowed but that didn't stop my little frozen man from finding himself a teeny tiny Christmas tree which he decorated with tiny golden beads and a little Swarovski crystal star as the topper that he had picked from the frozen skies and now he is very happy and ready for Christmas.

My little friend, the penny, will give you an idea of the size of this creation.

Like I said, everyone loves Christmas and a Christmas tree, even the tiniest little snowman.

I hope you have enjoyed my latest Christmas creation ~ I just loved making it.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting me again here at Todolwen and I hope you will come back some time soon.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Just One More..

Hello my dear friends,

I was tidying my craft room yesterday after having not done so for a few weeks and whilst doing so, I came across a Christmassy something and thought, just one more ...

... one more little giveaway before Christmas.

The little something I found was two yards of fabric.
Remember my Valentine's fabric with the tags? Well, this is a lovely fabric with all sorts of Christmas images on it.

 Take a look ...

All in all there are 24 tags to a yard and one is as neat as the other and you could make so many lovely things with them.

Two of you lovely bloggers will be able to win this neat Christmas fabric. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. I will be drawing the winner next Sunday at around noon again.
Good luck to all of you!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Large Scale Work Continues ..

Hello my dear friends,

remember me saying that I was thinking of painting my kitchen and dinning room last week?! ... Well, I actually did this a few days ago! Again I am so happy it is done and it was the best thing I could have done really this past week.

I was so eager to start that I remembered to take a picture or two just in time before I started to prime the walls but after everything was moved around. I need to take note of doing so before I start work the next time.

Can you see my blackboard on the right?
It barely stands out and it is such a pretty piece (I made it from an old picture frame I had bought for $ 5 in a second hand store) but hopefully that will change. Please ignore the mess! But as you can see the wall color is very rich but also very dark.

Again before with the old wall color in a dark barn red ...

... primed and ...

... with the new color! (And still a mess ..!)

Oh my ... how big and bright the room now is! It really is amazing what a change of color can do for a room. I love my living room and dinning/kitchen so much more now.
(Sorry that the pictures are a bit blurry, I have no idea why this happened.)

The nicest thing about this is that I am done with painting for this year but the new year is just around the corner so I am already thinking of another room to work on. Now I just have to get everything all tidy and neat and decorated for Christmas ... I am just so crazy busy these days!

I already have a few new creations which I made a little while ago to share with you hopefully very soon I just haven't finished the posts about them yet but as soon as I have they will be here on Todolwen.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me again ~ it is always so nice when you do.

I hope you are well and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
