My Easter Blooms ..

Hello my dear friends,

I haven't been creative in what seems such a long time so a few days ago I took the time to do so and with Easter just down the road I chose to make my first Easter creation for this year and I am hoping there will be a few more.

I had bought a tin egg filled with candy last year some time but never used it in the end due to the fact that I just couldn't think of what I would like to create with it and I still haven't so far but that didn't stop me from buying another tin egg from Michaels. Again at first I had no idea what I was going to make with it but I wanted to have it just in case.

Shortly after I decided what I would create using the egg or rather half of it.
I had a song in my head since a few weeks now from Alice in Wonderland. It was the song that the flowers sing about themselves and there was the lily of the valley part which played in the back of my head. Being into crocheting quite a bit amongst doing other things lately, that's where my mind went next but not only there. I remembered beautiful Victorian Easter postcards I had seen at the antique store just recently too.

All these bits and pieces of information all went into a pot and I started stewing them together for a while until everything was perfect and the image of my first Easter creation was in my mind. All I had to do now is to make it.

I begun by crocheting little pieces that looked like tiny bowls and I can tell you it wasn't easy. They were so small and my eyes are not what they used to be.

I was using a 1 mm crochet hook and very fine yarn.  I am so happy they worked out just the way I wanted them too ~ my little 'bowls' were smaller than a cent piece.

Once they were done I needed to starch them so they would keep their shape. Being impatient as I am and with no starch in the house and not a fan of white glue I remembered my Mama telling me about how she used sugar water to starch her doilies ~ so that's what I did. It didn't take long and my little 'bowls' were all starched and dried.

Thing were now slowly coming together.

I prepared the egg half and then took to the finish I wanted it to have. A few more bits and pieces needed to be found and then it was done!

As so many times before I found it hard to choose which photos to share with all you lovely bloggers so I shared them all!  I hope you will enjoy them.

And now I  excited to share my newest creation with you ...

... My Easter Blooms.

As you can see I made wire and crochet little Lily of the Valley with leaves made from painted drop cloth.

I just love this crackle finish so much!

My vintage violets were just perfect for this creation.

I am thrilled about the way this creation has turned out and I hope it made you smile a little.

I am hoping to be able to create one or two more Easter creations if I get time to do so and of course I will share them with you.

So ...  do stop by from time to time here at Todolwen.
You never know what I might have been up to!

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.

Always Check Twice .. Fabric Finds Again

Hello my dear friends,

always check twice and some times even three time because you never know. That is a little advice I would like to share with you lovely bloggers today.

I did so yesterday ... checked for the third time and was lucky!
With what you ask?! ... With finding more of the Valentine's and Easter fabric panels that I have sold in my Etsy shop and as I was told and as I told you ...they were all gone! Well, that wasn't true.

I had to head out to take a look at a furniture store for some new pieces for our house which wasn't too far away from the fabric store I go to so I couldn't resist going there again ~ you never know!

I had a little more time to look around this time (don't forget this store must have over 1000 bolts of fabric) so I started to look in places I hadn't looked before and you won't believe what I found! The apparently 'sold out' Valentine's tag and Easter/Spring tag fabric. Was I happy? ..Oh, yes I was!
I was able to buy the last (?) two panels of  Valentine's tags and the last (?) three panels of the Easter/Spring fabric.

All of the Valentine's and Easter/Spring fabric panels will be listed in my Etsy shop for sale and hopefully some of you that unfortunately missed out last times will now be able to purchase some of this neat fabric after all.

The panels will be in my Etsy shop on Thursday morming, March 27th at 8 am EST.

The same rules apply as they did the last two times. One piece per theme per customer and no reserving of the fabric.

In my search I also found St. Patrick's Day tags panels but I decided not to buy any of them at this moment in time but I did take a few photos for you to see what it looked like.

Very lovely tags again.

And last but not least ...

... I found such another neat fabric and it is so just me because of what is on it ... namely antique sewing machines. Take a look!

Aren't they just lovely?!
I actually have several antique sewing machines, most of them are antique children's sewing machines ~ maybe that is why I like this fabric so much.

I haven't decided if I am going to buy any of it or not just yet since I am still working on an idea of what I could create it. I have one little thing in mind but it's only my first idea. I will just have to put a little more thought into it first and then make my mind up but I will keep you up to date on it one I know myself.

It was so nice of you to stop by today and visit me here again here at Todolwen and I would love to see you here some time soon again.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day,

A New Neat Fabric ...

Hello my dear friends,

shortly after my Valentine's fabric was sent off ...

... and I thank all of you who bought it, I went back to Lens Mill for some wool I needed. Not only did I find the wool I needed but I also found an other beautiful fabric just like the Valentine's one but this time it is with an Easter/Spring theme! Of course I didn't leave the store without buying their last panels of it but unfortunately I haven't had the time yet to create anything from it because I am always busy it seems but hopefully I will think of something neat to make with it soon. I might actually make another lavender sachet or two again with it but I am not sure yet.

And this is the fabric ...

... I have taken pictures for you to be able to see most of it.

Each panel has 24 labels and one is nicer than the other and they are all different from each other again too.

So neat all the bunnies and lovely flowers!

I have 5 panels of this fabric and I will be listing them in my Etsy shop on ...

... Thursday, March the 20th at 8 am.

The same conditions apply like the last time. Unfortunately I won't be able to reserve any panels and it is one panel per customer please ~ it just makes it fair for every one. I hope you again understand this. I would like to please everyone and make everyone happy and I try hard but some times it's just not possible.

I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind.

Have a peaceful and creative day.
